@PeteThamel The SEC's always late to the party, but they'll still try to burn the house down once they arrive. LSU's just the latest example of the gap between how college sports actually run and how the rulebook says they should.

@PeteThamel It isn’t even in the right court. You cannot sue state entities in federal court when you don’t have valid claims The first amendment claim is spurious and so is any attempt at some 1982 or 1983 harm or whatever

The only way that LSU wouldn’t be punished is if the presidents of the SEC member institutions are naïve and would fall for a façade such as that. The court order obligating LSU to roster the players was part of the plan all along. Does anyone think that they would allow LSU to benefit from such a subterfuge?

@PeteThamel If they have existing NFL contracts, they should in no way, shape or form have the ability to return to college football. This is a hypocrisy if that were to occur.

@PeteThamel Temporary win for LSU: injunction lets former NFL players play, but the legal risk is intact. If the SEC nails serious sanctions the program could trade this season’s gains for years of restrictions. Not a smart long-term bet.
