Silent Hill 3 | PlayStation 2 - 2003

SH3 still holds up — the mall opening and the mirror room pushed the PS2 harder than most games of its era. And Heather remains the series' only female lead, carrying the first game's story forward as a direct sequel. Yamaoka's soundtrack is untouchable.

Downloaded this to my PC. Got the Steam006 PC fix patch so it runs super smooth at 3840x2160 resolution with controller support. I still need to finish through this but I'm not gonna lie, the atmosphere in this is genuinely frightening. Easily the scariest Silent Hill game, at least to me anyway.

I don't know if it's nostalgia that speaks but I haven't found certain atmospheres in the most modern games
