Sim City 2000 from 1993. This game was absolutely mind blowing at the time. Did you play this classic?

Hundreds of hours on it. Build it up, then comes the biblical retribution for their sins. Fire. Earthquake. Monsters.

I'm actually playing right now. Have you heard of the "Hydro Island" concept? For just over the same price as Coal, you can get 80% of the same power + 1 fully-saturated Water Pump? This is one of the cleanest, most efficient 1900s methods I've found so far.

Absolutely. Spent a ridiculous amount of time on this game.

Had to make a boot disk to bypass my CDROM to free up enough memory to play this on my 486SX Tandy “Sensation!” desktop. Loved this game. Was really bummed when they abandoned the Arcologies in SC3000

I logged so many hours on this game. So disappointed when I downloaded the newer candy crush-ified version on my phone

What was the character and position within the city that always told you there would be regrets if you cut back on infrastructure? Anyone remember this!? 😂

I was so high on acid one time after playing all night that I thought I saw little cars stuck in traffic driving across my feet as I walked.

I think I beat it once by covering the map in those arcologies

Loved creating cities in Sim City, started playing it on my Commodore 64 though, it was great for teaching budgeting, management etc. Every city council member should have to play Sim City and manage the city then present that city as part of their job application. Might tell alot.

Yes. Taught me that bonds are hard to pay back. And we get Fusion Power in the year 2050

The coolest thing they did was integrate it with Sim Copter. You could fly around and do missions in cities you created. Gawd that was so much fun.

DOS version was the best. Then fly around in your cities in SimCopter. By Arcologies were always crime-riddled

Raise three sides of the entire map by 3 tiles, make waterfalls, and run hydroelectric. One side is deep water.

Fun fact. My first righteous hack in middle school was shoulder surfing my teacher for the admin password of the MacOS security software so I could play this game whenever I wanted. I got caught and suspended for a few days. Worth it, great game.

Mind blowing is correct, another game I couldn't believe existed. I spent a bunch of time learning it and thinking how complicated it was 🤣🤣

Yes, one of my favourites, as I can hack the save file to increase the money. Have you done the same, or slowly wait for money to flow in?
