Silvia Pinal tuvo una extensa carrera de más de seis décadas en la que actuó en alrededor de 60 películas, entre las que se encuentran tres de Luis Buñuel: "Viridiana" (1961), "El ángel exterminador" (1962) y "Simón del desierto" (1965). Su talento y versatilidad le permitieron destacar en estos filmes que exploraron temas de lo onírico, lo religioso y lo social, consolidándola como una de las grandes actrices del cine mexicano e internacional.
