This morning you are hearing media cries of "Q1 GDP Falls!" They are obviously gleeful and looking for any reason to smear the Trump economy, but what's behind the supposed economic slowdown? Yes, GDP is down 0.3% this quarter but... - This is largely driven by an increase of imports (+43%) as companies looked to get ahead of tariffs. **Increase tariffs equals a drop in GDP** - However Government spending is down (-5.1%) which also detracts from GDP, but doesn't reflect poor economic conditions. Trump ran on downsizing the government and that's what he's doing. - Furthermore, domestic investment is up (+21.9%) driven largely by an increase in equipment purchases (+22.5%) which reflects positive business sentiment. Businesses are building for the future. - On top of all of that job growth remains strong (100K over expectations) and inflation remains low (2.4% in March). Don't buy into the doomsday narrative until you dig into the b.s the media is trying to sell you.

Since 2008, the world's overall debt burden has increased 41%. China's debt exploded 139%. India has actually reduced its total debt burden by 4% of GDP. The US Debt to GDP stands at 124%. China at 88%. Japan at over 250%. India's combined figure, the Debt to GDP is 83% approximately. It is lower than most major economies and is on a declining path. And that too, after COVID. We have retained a sense of calm and given free vaccine to all the citizens, but still that fiscal deficit of 9.3% has been brought down.
