Zara Larsson confirmed that she filmed a music video for the remix of ‘Eurosummer’ with Shakira, and she spoke about the singer and the experience of shooting the video with her. “Just being around her was really amazing because she is so humble and sweet and she’s so collaborative and she sends me the longest voice notes and she’s just a sweetie pie. Like I am such a fan of her and in just the way she like moves through the industry and how she communicates with people. I know she’s busy like no one else. So the fact that she you know has taken her time out of her very busy schedule to be a part of this to be even doing a verse of my song. It’s iconic.”

jannabi talking about #karina and their collab host: in aespa, karina was not the member that stood out a lot in terms of vocals. but her voice is very unique, and there's something that only her voice has, it has colour. i personally think karina has the pivotal voice that represents aespa's colour. so that's why i think that it was a very wise decision to bring karina's voice into the song jeonghoon: she sang extremely well. her singing was really good, and she's also incredibly sincere about music. dohyeong: we could really feel her determination for this song, so we're very grateful for her JH: she said she wants to really sing her favourite line well, so she attempted the recording several times H: what was the favourite line? 👥️ "a night sky and terrace" JH: she liked that part a lot and said "this is my favourite line, i want to try singing it better". and especially in the second verse, i gave a few descriptions of the song to her, asking her to sing the part with a bit more assertiveness and liveliness, and she comprehended it really well

Rita Hayworth performing “Put the Blame on Mame” written by Allan Roberts and Doris Fisher for the film noir Gilda (1946), directed by Charles Vidor. There is a rumour that this film is the only time Rita Hayworth's real singing voice is heard, but that is not true. According to the bonus features from the DVD, Hayworth actually never recorded her own singing voice and was a talented lip-syncher. Anita Ellis dubbed almost all of her singing in this film. Hayworth always wanted to do her own singing, and Columbia Pictures chief Harry Cohn paid for her voice lessons, but she never developed a voice he considered strong enough to be used; Hayworth remained bitter about that for the rest of her life. According to the commentary provided on TCM, although Anita Ellis did voice the big production version of “Put the Blame on Mame”, Rita Hayworth indeed was singing that song when she is strumming the guitar at the bar.

Remembering the great Dinah Washington who was born this week in 1924. Often called the Queen of the Blues, she was a profoundly influential vocal artist, especially on female rock and roll singers. Washington was noted for her excellent voice control and unique gospel-influenced delivery. At just 15, after winning a local talent contest, she began performing in clubs. By 1941–42, she was already appearing at Chicago venues like Dave’s Café and the Downbeat Room of the Sherman Hotel, where she worked with Fats Waller. While singing at the Three Deuces, a friend introduced her to Billie Holiday at the Garrick Stage Bar. One evening, when she performed “I Understand” with Cats and the Fiddle—who were playing in the Garrick’s upstairs room—club owner Joe Sherman was so taken with her voice that he offered her a job. For the next year she sang upstairs while Holiday performed downstairs, and during this time she adopted the name that would define her career. Here, she is performing “All of Me” with Wynton Kelly on piano, Max Roach on drums, Terry Gibbs on vibraphone, Urbie Green on trombone and Paul West on bass live at the Newport Jazz Festival in 1958.

The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has paid a visit to the woman who was physically assaulted by her husband in a viral video at Ofankor in the Greater Accra Region. According to the victim, she has been separated from her husband for the past five months. She explained that her husband contacted her, claiming that one of their children was ill, only for her to be physically assaulted upon arrival. Her husband has since been remanded into police custody, together with two of his siblings, by an Accra Magistrate Court.

Here is an inspiring story! Cebisa quit her job to study towards a social work degree at UCT She is completing this year. But listen to this, she has two sons and both of them are students at UCT, one doing third year civil engineering and the other is doing final year media. She will graduate with one of her sons next year. Her sons play netball for UCT and she went to JHB to support them at the tournament. Cebisa is a cancer survivor (leukaemia) and an author of two books . These are the stories that move me! People who do the most, go through the most and never give up! The Cebisa’s of our world! Long Post ! The internet is celebrating #TMC nomination of Menaka Guruswamy to the #RajyaSabha, with many highlighting that she comes from the LGBTQ+ community. Representation matters - there is no doubt about that. But for many of us, including myself , what truly stands out is something even bigger: her extraordinary merit and body of work. Before I even knew about her personal identity, (which is none of my business) I knew her as one of the sharpest legal minds in the country. A Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India, she is known for her clarity of argument, intellectual rigour, and fierce commitment to constitutional values. She can standup in a courtroom and never use her gender or sexuality to make an argument. She can shut down people without saying “excuse me, I am a woman and ladies first” Look at the journey - Alumna of National Law School of India University, University of Oxford, and Harvard Law School. A Rhodes Scholarship recipient. B. R. Ambedkar Research Scholar and Lecturer at Columbia University. She has taught at Yale University, the University of Toronto, and New York University. In 2019, she and Arundhati Katju were named among Time’s 100 most influential people in the world. That is not just representation. That is excellence. Yes, she has been an important voice in advancing LGBTQ+ rights. But what makes her remarkable is that she argues with logic, scholarship, and constitutional depth…not identity. Her work speaks first. And perhaps that’s the real message here: people from the LGBTQ+ community are not seeking validation through labels. They are living with dignity, building careers, shaping institutions, and through their work making it easier for society to shed prejudice. So when Menaka Guruswamy enters the Rajya Sabha, it shouldn’t be reduced to a single aspect of who she is. She will walk in there with SEVERAL DEGREES THAT SHE WILL NEVER OR NEVER HAVE TO HIDE. #WesternSyria | #Jableh: The case of the young woman Batoul Alloush has been gaining additional traction, as the girl appeared in a video wearing a strict Islamic hijab (not the typical hijab worn by Syrian Sunni women), repeating the same claim that she has not been kidnapped and that she is on a religious migration (hijra) for the sake of God. Her mother and father then came forward several hours after their daughter’s video, speaking through the Anat Organization for Justice and Human Rights. They stated that their daughter was abducted from the university and that the security cameras showed no footage of her leaving on her own. Her father demanded that whoever kidnapped her be identified, and emphasized that his daughter, who is studying medical technology at the University of #Latakia, has full freedom to make her own personal choices. As for reports that his daughter had converted to a new religion (to Islam), the father said: “Whatever religion she wants to embrace that pleases God, we stand by our daughter, she can practice it at home, surrounded by her family.” The father spoke with deep emotion, saying that his daughter is the air he breathes, that she is the light of his eyes, and that her little sister is desperately longing to see her. He also called for those responsible for the abduction to be held accountable.

#WesternSyria | #Jableh: The case of the young woman Batoul Alloush has been gaining additional traction, as the girl appeared in a video wearing a strict Islamic hijab (not the typical hijab worn by Syrian Sunni women), repeating the same claim that she has not been kidnapped and that she is on a religious migration (hijra) for the sake of God. Her mother and father then came forward several hours after their daughter’s video, speaking through the Anat Organization for Justice and Human Rights. They stated that their daughter was abducted from the university and that the security cameras showed no footage of her leaving on her own. Her father demanded that whoever kidnapped her be identified, and emphasized that his daughter, who is studying medical technology at the University of #Latakia, has full freedom to make her own personal choices. As for reports that his daughter had converted to a new religion (to Islam), the father said: “Whatever religion she wants to embrace that pleases God, we stand by our daughter, she can practice it at home, surrounded by her family.” The father spoke with deep emotion, saying that his daughter is the air he breathes, that she is the light of his eyes, and that her little sister is desperately longing to see her. He also called for those responsible for the abduction to be held accountable.
