This is the technique that caused me to open a portal near the kitchen ceiling that our cat stared at for the next hour like she was watching TV. Likely formed a standing wave of just the right sigil-like shape to “dial an active number.”

You are really late to this. The Mongols, Tibetan monks have been doing it for decades. Appropriation without appreciation is a blatant theft.

There’s one Abdul in almost every lane who gives this note 5 times a day. What more, he even prostates on the cross road while doing it. STOP appropriating Abdul’s only talent.

Yes, it's Tuvan throat-singing. Kongar-ol Ondar was a renown master who introduced Tuvan throat singing to the west. Nobel Physics legend Richard Feynman was a fan along with his friend Ralph Leighton.

@Kyra2001 It's nice that this technique has arrived in the West, but it comes from central Asia. Plus there's Sainkho Namtchylak from Tuva, who lives in Vienna.

In high school, I had a Juilliard trained trumpet teacher. He could breathe in through his nose while breathing out through the mouthpiece. It was the most amazing thing to behold.

It’s interesting because all of those notes she’s singing are already a part of the fundamental. They are just being overwritten by it…but when she shapes the throat it magnifies whichever one she chooses. This is incredibly sensitive work, figuring out those shapes. It takes so much listening and trial and error.

It's remarkable how Sumi Jo, a world authority on opera and one of the most famous and respected lyric sopranos in the world, validates not only Kim Taehyung's charisma but also his pure vocal technique. Sumi Jo explains that Taehyung has a natural baritone voice (deeper and fuller), but that he can reach tenor notes (higher). “Taehyung has baritone pitch, capable of higher pitch (this song is for tenor).” My note: In musical theatre, this is what we call a baritenor. The baritenor is a versatile and powerful voice, essential for many characters in musical theatre who need a wide, but not extreme, vocal range, with the color of a baritone and the capacity of a tenor. Like Kim Taehyung, the baritenor has a powerful and extensive voice, capable of singing both as a strong baritone and developing a special repertoire for tenor. Taehyung has a remarkable ability to transition between the characteristics of a baritone and a tenor. Sumi Jo also points out that Taehyung was neither over- nor under-pitched, which is rare for someone not specifically trained in opera: “...I happened to see a scene where he sings an opera aria. 'Nessun Dorma' from Turandot. It's a very difficult aria. So I listened with interest, but I was so surprised. Because it even sang a cappella. No accompaniment. Without a band or any situation like that.” “Taehyung holds the note accurately. Neither higher nor lower. On the pitch, and singing like that. (Which is amazing.)” “I was so surprised, to be honest. That is called absolute pitch.” Maintaining perfect pitch without an instrumental reference is a sign that he possesses perfect pitch or an extremely well-trained relative pitch. My note: Perfect pitch is a rare ability that allows individuals to instantly identify musical notes without a reference pitch. People with this gift can name notes and chords upon hearing them, sing any specific pitch on command, play songs by ear, and visualize compositions through their musical memory. “He has such an amazing talent. Also, classic singers like us are happy when artists in other area, shows interest in the classical music like this. Very happy, indeed.” - Sumi Jo 🔗 #Kimtaehyung #Taehyung #V #singer #voice

❤️The relationship between the original artist, Dolly Parton, and the legendary Whitney Houston stands as one of the most beautiful and gracious stories in music history. Far from the envy often seen in the industry, Dolly always held Whitney in the highest regard. She once shared a moving memory of hearing the cover on the radio for the first time; when Whitney’s voice soared, Dolly had to pull her car over immediately and burst into tears, overwhelmed by how the song had been elevated beyond her wildest imagination. For decades, Dolly maintained that Whitney never "stole" the song; rather, the late diva transformed her intimate, personal sentiment into a monumental global anthem. This mutual respect culminated at the 1994 Grammy Awards, where Dolly Parton herself presented the prestigious golden trophy to Whitney Houston. That night, Whitney also made history with her "white dress" performance—widely considered the greatest live vocal performance of all time. Appearing like a goddess in a pristine white mermaid gown atop a raised circular platform, she performed on a minimalist stage that allowed the audience to focus entirely on her soulful gaze and soaring vocals. The performance served as a masterclass in vocal technique, showcasing an artist at the absolute peak of her powers. Whitney opened with a breathtaking, nearly 45-second a cappella section, demonstrating flawless pitch control as she seamlessly locked in with the instrumentation that followed. During the climax, she employed open-throat technique and Gospel-style melisma to unleash rich, bright, and powerful belted notes. The most powerful moment occurred when the music suddenly paused for a few seconds, giving way to a massive E-flat (Eb5) note on the words "And I..." With boundless breath support and natural vibrato, that magnificent sustained note swept through the auditorium like a tidal wave of sound, leaving even the seasoned stars in the audience awestruck. Her performance at the 1994 Grammys was a perfect blend of dazzling beauty, consummate vocal technique, and heartfelt emotion. When Whitney passed away suddenly in 2012, Dolly Parton bade her farewell with a tearful tribute, affirming that she would always love her. The profound, soulful connection between the songwriter and the singer transformed "I Will Always Love You" into an immortal legend—a musical sanctuary that the world continues to revere with awe to this day. ------------------------------
