GHOST FLOOD CONTROL PROJECTS IN BULACAN CONFIRMED—DPWH SECRETARY BONOAN ADMITS WATCH: DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan admitted during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing that there are ghost flood control projects in Bulacan, after being pressed by Sen. Jinggoy Estrada. When asked if he was aware of ghost projects in the province, Bonoan said he only learned about them this year through reports from the agency, which are now being validated. He mentioned that many projects were supposedly implemented in 2021 and 2022. Sen. Estrada named affected areas including Calumpit, Malolos, and Hagonoy, prompting Bonoan to confirm that information was received. It was revealed that Wao Wao Builders, owned by Mark Allan Arevalo, was the contractor. Bonoan also disclosed that Wao Wao Builders secured ₱9 billion in projects nationwide, with ₱5.97 billion coming from Bulacan flood control projects. He clarified that not all Wao Wao Builders projects are ghost projects. Following this, Sen. Estrada subpoenaed Arevalo to attend the next hearing. | via Jojo Sicat, Abante

🌧️ RAINY SEASON ANG TOTOONG AUDIT This rainy season will be the real test kung gumagana ba talaga ang flood-control projects. And look at this: kung dati hanggang dibdib ang baha sa area na ’to sa Las Pinas, ngayon, ankle-deep na lang at mabilis pang humupa. So apparently, may solusyon pala! SUPRISE! Imagine that. Hindi pala imposible ang flood control! Residents deserved this years ago. It’s only during the time of PBBM na nagkaroon ng solusyon!
