What is this sorcery? Toto keeps yapping that we will bring upgrades at a pace that's unmatched and yet LH says we didn't bring any updates. 🙁

i think he meant no BIG updates and i think they went back to old spec after practice maybe ?

🚨| Lewis Hamilton: "I feel optimistic. 5th is not the greatest, but it could be far far worse, so I'm grateful to be there and of course I wish I was up further ahead, however I think our race pace was pretty good in the race. Charles had a good race pace this morning and I feel optimistic, I think the car is in a better place, so I think hopefully with the right strategy, with the right execution, I think hopefully we can challenge the guys ahead."

🚨| Lewis Hamilton on the up and down weekend so far. "I think when we started off FP1 the car felt great, I was consistent, but of course there was still, there's always areas that you feel like you can improve, so we made subtle changes to try and fix those improvements and it flipped the car on its head and it was horrible through sprint qualifying and then all through the race I just had no confidence in the balance, and we made all these changes into qualifying, so I was learning a new car again, a new balance again, which I'm much happier with, but now trying to progress with it, learning it in only like six laps was a challenge, but also the Mercedes are up ahead now that we have a bit of a deficit on power, so I think tomorrow I think our race pace should be better and I think as I said the car is better (for the race)." I honestly thought that we were faster than we were. I think we need to look at our practice sessions because obviously it was very promising on Friday. We made, I think, a step in the wrong direction on Saturday morning and we didn't move from there. And the car was just very weak in the middle and the last sector. So we couldn't get close to the cars ahead. Soso ultimately, I think process-wise we can improve and then set up the direction that we took was wrong. But I think also the guys around us were really quick. We just needed to qualify quick. Mariana: Yeah, that's why I said that I thought that you had the car for a better position because yesterday you said it was actually a process problem, you know, choosing the right or the wrong tyres. Lewis: Yeah, I think if we qualified in the top three, I think we would have probably stayed there, you know, because people weren't overtaking. So it's just down to qualifying. "i was still convinced i could win the race today and we did.. when the car's good and i'm in a good flow, there's no stopping" 😮‍💨 🗣️: what pleases you the most? lando: "the fact the car was very strong today. i was just very happy with a lot of things. i mean, the car was still horrible to drive at times, but quick. and i'd rather a horrible but quick car than anything else. yeah just the pace i had the whole race. even behind oscar at the beginning, of course, it wasn't my finest turn two. but after that, i was seeing what my pace was like and i just was better in every sense, in terms of degradation, in pace. and i was convinced i could still win the race even after that. whether i would box or i would force him to box [by putting him under pressure with the gaps] and i would go long and get fresher tyres and come back through. so i was still convinced i could win the race today and we did. of course, unfortunate for him and unlucky because i think we could have had a one-two. but otherwise, just my pace to stay so close to him for so long. we were just on another level today, and i felt in a very good flow of things. and when the car's good and i'm in a good flow, there's no stopping"

Today was a really really tough race, one being extremely hot…” “My start wasn’t very good to be honest, my getaway was really poor and I was on the attack. Obviously got past Charles, and I thought it wasn’t looking too bad the first few laps, with George I was kinda holding off for a second. And then the rears dropped off on every set, for some reason the balance was very difficult.” “On Friday we were down 6 tenths just in straight line speed, I have to go and see what the case was today but I’m sure it was not insignificant. Grip wise, we just couldn’t keep up with everyone today. Very tough one but I’m grateful for the points.” “Not the result we wanted but we got to points at least”
