Ed Johnson, election integrity expert, alerts me to a danger to the implementation of the Texas redistricting plan and election integrity. He discovered an amendment slipped thru the regular session that allows voters to move their registration within counties on election day, enabling organized efforts to swamp one district with voters from another in the big counties to game redistricting. He met with Greg Abbott yesterday to discuss the problem and to discuss adding a solution to the problem to this second special session. The video below shows State Rep Matt Shaheen adding this problematic language on May 28. Note the pleased reaction of Dem Reps Erin Zweiner and John Bucy in the video. The offending language added a new section to Election Code 15.025: "(e) A voterโ€™s registration takes effect immediately upon the registrarโ€™s receipt of a notice of the voterโ€™s change of address submitted under Section 15.021, Section 63.0011, Section 15.053, or Chapter 20 if the voter changes residence within the same county as the voterโ€™s current registration address." Before I heard about this problem, I have said that I think the evidence shows that the price extracted from the Burrows Uniparty Team for the Dems putting him into power this session was the gutting of election integrity laws. I think this more evidence of cooperation between the Dems and the Burrows team to thwart election integrity. If you agree that this issue needs to be fixed, use this link, I urge you to contact the governor's office, urging him to add a fix for this same day registration problem to the special session call. This is the text I used in my submission: Please add to the second special session call: Legislation that will not allow any immediate effect of voter registration within 30 days of an election. Specifically, Texas Election Code 15.025(e) that was added as an amendment to 89th SB 2217 needs to be deleted. *** BTW, note that no one snapped to the problem as the amendment was introduced at the end of a very long session in the hard slog in consideration of lots of bills. I am not sure I would have, either. I thank Ed Johnson for this catch and his efforts to rectify it.

Training Volume / Intensity / Rep Range / Progressive Overload โ€” Everything You Need To Know: (This is what will grow MOST people best) ๐—ง๐—ข๐—ง๐—”๐—Ÿ ๐—ฆ๐—˜๐—ง๐—ฆ ๐—ฃ๐—˜๐—ฅ ๐—ช๐—˜๐—˜๐—ž 45ish-60ish total working sets per week - If training 3x per week, this will mean 16, 17, 18ish sets per session - If training 4x per week, this will mean 13, 14, 15ish sets per session - If training 5x per week, this will mean 10, 11, 12ish sets per session ๐—ง๐—ข๐—ง๐—”๐—Ÿ ๐—ฆ๐—˜๐—ง๐—ฆ ๐—ฃ๐—˜๐—ฅ ๐—•๐—ข๐——๐—ฌ ๐—ฃ๐—”๐—ฅ๐—ง ๐—ฃ๐—˜๐—ฅ ๐—ช๐—˜๐—˜๐—ž - For balanced development, youโ€™re going to want to perform 5, 6, 7, 8ish sets per body part per week - If prioritizing a muscle group, youโ€™re going to want to perform 8, 9, 10, MAYBE 10+ sets for that body part each week - If deprioritizing a muscle group, you only need 2, 3, 4ish sets for that body part each week to maintain existing development ๐—™๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—ค๐—จ๐—˜๐—ก๐—–๐—ฌ In all likelihood, you will get MORE (in the way of stimulus) by splitting the work you do for a given muscle group across 2 sessions per week Splitting the work you do for a given muscle group across 3 sessions per week can work as well but the potential benefit is probably NOT that large and it diminishes the margin of safety Performing all the work you do for a given muscle group on ONE day (Bro Split Style) can work but it like has an opportunity cost associated with it ๐—ง๐—ข๐—ง๐—”๐—Ÿ ๐—ฆ๐—˜๐—ง๐—ฆ ๐—ฃ๐—˜๐—ฅ ๐—˜๐—ซ๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—–๐—œ๐—ฆ๐—˜ The sweet spot is generally 2-3 sets for a given exercise in a given session 1 set is fine depending on the context of the programming as a whole but you likely didnโ€™t squeeze all the juice out of the lemon If you preform 4+ sets of a given exercise in a given session, what the fuck were you doing the first couple of sets? ๐—œ๐—ก๐—ง๐—˜๐—ก๐—ฆ๐—œ๐—ง๐—ฌ The intensity you take sets to can GREATLY IMPACT how many total sets you can perform while still allowing for adequate recovery from session to session Generally speaking, it is a good idea to leave about 1 RIR on most exercises to ensure stimulus is robust but fatigue is kept at bay There is one HUGE caveat to that however: If you do not trust your ability to accurately gauge RIR, it is better to just take your sets to 0 RIR/Failure than it is to risk sandbagging sets by leaving an incidental 2, 3, 4+ reps in the tankโ€ฆjust know you will not be able to generate as high a net stimulus throughout the week if you live in this intensity range ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ/๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ข๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ Pick a weight you can do for 5-6ish reps with GOOD-GREAT technique @ the prescribed RIR (should be 0-2 RIR) Once you can hit 7, 8, 9, 10ish reps with the same GOOD-GREAT technique @ the prescribed RIR, increase the load You can weight select on a SET BY SET BASIS โ€” this means in theory some of your sets could be heavier/lighter than others (assuming youโ€™re doing multiple sets of a given exercise on a given day)
