Yesss it can work!! It will just be more complicated since the upper body needs to be adjusted too, but the concept is the same!!

how would u do the delay is it on a 0.0 - 0.5-1.0 delay?? and u just put the warp for Body Y and Z on there but dont move it so it links to phys?

I have warp deformers that moves on the Z and Y when the rig is in the default stance, so I need to reduce its movement to around 50% or 0% when switching to the sitting pose.( 1/3 )
