Rescued with her leg tied up with wire to a tree, she has rested at the vet clinic, whilst the vets decide if there is a way to save the leg. We walked her today. Sadly they believe amputation is the only option and she will have surgery this week.

She was hit in the head. She learned that hands bring pain, that voices are something to fear. When she was rescued, she wasn’t just injured, she was terrified. She must have once had a home. But somewhere along the way, she was neglected, abandoned, left to survive alone in a world that had already been cruel to her. We can’t imagine the hell she has endured: the loneliness, the hunger, the fear. But today, she is safe. Safe in our care, there are only gentle hands and quiet patience. For the first time, she can rest without fear. The sun is now shining on her, from this day and forever.

The other teachers saw what she did and they all started laughing at her hysterically as she tried to explain what happened and that she was making a u-turn.
