NEW Bruce Springsteen formally endorses Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in a new video where he calls Donald Trump “the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime.” “Hi, I'm Bruce Springsteen. Friends, fans, and the press have asked me who I'm supporting in this most important of elections. And with full knowledge that my opinions are no more or less important than those of any of my fellow citizens, here's my answer: I'm supporting Kamala Harris for President and Tim Waltz for Vice President and opposing Donald Trump and JD Vance. Here's why. We are shortly coming upon one of the most consequential elections in our nation's history. Perhaps not since the Civil War has this great country felt as politically, spiritually, and emotionally divided as it does then at this moment. It doesn't have to be this way. The common values, the shared stories that make us a great and united nation are waiting to be rediscovered and retold once again. Now that will take time, hard work, intelligence, faith and women and men with the national good, guiding their hearts. America's the most powerful nation on earth. Not just because of her overwhelming military strength or economic power, but because of what she stands for, what she means, what she believes in: freedom, social justice, equal opportunity, the right to be and love who you want. These are the things that make America great. Donald Trump is the most dangerous candidate for President in my lifetime. His disdain for the sanctity of our constitution, the sanctity of democracy, the sanctity of the rule of law, and the sanctity of the peaceful transfer of power should disqualify him from the office of President ever again. He doesn't understand the meaning of this country, its history or what it means to be deeply American. On the other hand, Kamala Harris and Tim Waltz are committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone regardless of class, religion, race, your political point of view or sexual identity, and they want to grow our economy in a way that benefits all, not just the few like me on top. That's the vision of America I’ve been consistently writing about for 55 years now. Everybody sees things different, and I respect your choice as a fellow citizen, but like you, I've only got one vote, and it's one of the most precious possessions that I have. That's why come November 5th, I'll be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”

At the hospital on Thanksgiving. I am thankful for 16 years of memories. This is likely the last full day my husband, Don will be alive. We have made the decision to proceed with comfort related care beginning tomorrow. Some of you know he had a stroke in 2019. It slowly progressed and got worse. It’s been a struggle to juggle my life, happiness, and also be his caregiver. He recently fell in his memory care facility a few days ago and it has quickly progressed from ER to hospital admission to ICU after a code blue. I was told he went without oxygen to his brain for 20 minutes. I don’t know how to process this right now but the best I can do is be with him on Thanksgiving. It was his favorite holiday. He called it “Fat Boy Christmas.” I don’t know if he can hear me but I have told him I will be okay and he can pass peacefully. I will play the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade for him. Perhaps it will bring back some really good happy memories. Please enjoy this video of Don singing. He was an amazing singer and sang until the very end. He never forgot the lyrics to his favorite songs. His brother passed away around the time this video was recorded and it made him realize life was too short. We fast tracked our life together and the rest was history. I moved to Florida to be with him and we had an amazing life together full of love and happy memories I will cherish forever. I love you Don. ♥️♥️♥️

Sigourney Weaver on what she loved about her character in "Alien" (1979): "Interviewer: Ripley is now seen as this feminist action hero. Did you think about that or the politics of your representation at the time? Weaver: What I loved about Ripley in the first one, thanks to [producers] Walter [Hill] and David [Giler], and in the second one, thanks to Jim Cameron, was that I didn't really feel like a badass heroine ever. What I felt was like you or me in this situation, [wondering] what the f**k you were going to do. It was an everyman character that could be any of us. That was very unusual at the time that a character, a woman character, went through a whole film, doing difficult things by herself, a lot of the time, and didn't have some scene where she bursts into tears and cries in a corner for a while. Because I'm telling you, in those days, they really wanted women to be sympathetic. And that meant that either you had to be in a little skirt and run around, or you had to have these scenes where you cried and broke down because they thought if you didn't that you would seem unfeminine. So I was so lucky that I avoided all of that because I was doing science fiction, because I was in the future. And I was just playing this character who was put in this situation. And it was written like a man. It wasn't written like the way they wrote women in those days." ("At 28, Sigourney Weaver Was Thrust Into An Alien World", Zosha Millman, Bustle, 2021) P.S: On this day, 47 years ago, "Alien" (1979) had its limited release in the USA.

Andrei Tarkovsky on Ingmar Bergman's Shame (1968): "Let us look at Bergman's Shame. The film doesn't contain a single 'actor's piece' for the performer to 'give away' the director's purpose, to play the conception of the persona, his attitude to it, to assess it in relation to the overall idea; and the latter is entirely hidden within the dynamic of the characters' lives, at one with it. The people in the film are crushed by circumstances; they act only in accordance with their situation, to which they themselves are subordinate; they make no attempt to proffer us any idea, any perspective on what is happening, or to draw any conclusion. All of that is left to the film as a whole, to the director's vision. And how superbly it is accomplished! You cannot say in simple terms who amongst them is good or bad. I could never say that von Sydow is a bad man. They are all partly good and partly bad, each in his own way. No judgements are passed, because there is no hint of tendentiousness in any of the actors, and the circumstances of the film are used by the director to explore the human possibilities which they test, and not for a moment in order to illustrate a thesis. Max von Sydow's character is developed with masterly power. He is a very good man; a musician; kind and sensitive. It turns out that he is a coward. But by no means every bold man is a good human being, and cowards are not always scoundrels. Of course, he is weak and irresolute. His wife is far stronger than he, so much so that she can overcome her fear. The hero lacks that strength. He is tormented by his own weakness, vulnerability, lack of resilience; he tries to hide, to cower in a corner, not to see and not to hear; and he does this like a child, naively and with complete sincerity. But when circumstances nevertheless force him to defend himself, he instantly turns into a scoundrel. He loses all that was best in him; but the drama and absurdity of his situation is that as he is now he becomes necessary to his wife, who, in her turn, looks to him for protection and succour instead of despising him as she always had. When he beats her about the face and says 'Get out!' she goes crawling after him. There is something here of the age-old idea of passive good and active evil; but its expression is immensely complex. At the beginning of the film the hero cannot even kill a chicken, but as soon as he has found a way of defending himself he becomes a cruel cynic. He has something of Hamlet: my view is that the Prince of Denmark perishes not as a result of the duel, when he dies physically, but immediately after the 'rat' scene, when he understands how irreversible are those laws of life which have forced him, a man of humanity and intellect, to act like the inferior people who inhabit Elsinore. Von Sydow is now a sinister character, afraid of nothing: he kills; will not raise a finger to save his fellows; pursues only his own interests. The point is that you have to be a person of great integrity to feel fear in the face of the foul necessity to kill and humiliate. And by shedding that fear and apparently acquiring courage, a person in fact loses his spiritual strength and intellectual honesty and parts from his innocence. War is the obvious catalyst for the cruel, anti-human elements in people. Bergman uses the war in this film exactly as he uses the heroine's illness in Through a Glass Darkly: to explore his view of man." — "Sculpting in Time" by Andrei Tarkovsky (translated by Kitty Hunter-Blair, 1987)

Lavrov: We’re seeing the birth of a new world order. However, we’re seeing a fight for the contours of the future between the global majority who’d like to see a fair distribution of global wealth and civilizational diversity and the elite that are trying to use neocolonial methods of subjugation to maintain its dominance which is dying away. The hallmark of the West is the inability to embrace quality and the total inability to negotiate. The US has assumed an air of arrogance and together with Europeans they make promises, take upon themselves commitments, but do not deliver on them. As President Putin said, the West is a true Empire of Lies. In 1949 the US designed Operation Dropshot to deliver massive nuclear strikes against the USSR. The Soviet Union created its own weapons and it was only during the Cuban Missile Crisis that the idea of waging an illusional victory in a war would stop becoming the main plank of US military plans. They were never concerned that they also violated commitments as part of the OSCE not to strengthen their own security at the expense of others. We wanted to see Ukraine maintain its non-bloc status. The West continued to consistently militarize a Russophobic regime which was brought to power as part of a military coup and used to stage a hybrid war against our country. The US and European/NATO allies have declared a task to deliver a strategic blow to Russia. These politicians do not have an elementary sense of survival. They are overwhelmed and obsessed by their own impunity and lawlessness. The US-led NATO countries are trying to ramp up and upgrade their offensive capacity and are trying to weaponize space and the media landscape. The US sets up military-political mini-alliances aimed against Russia and China to undermine the inclusive regional architecture led by ASEAN. The US and Western allies have decided to add global protection to the Monroe Doctrine. These are illusory designs and extremely dangerous but the ideologists of a new edition of Pax Americana can not be halted by this. The global minority is trying to put on hold the natural development of events. President Macron expressed his sincere concern about the expansion of BRICS. They are revising the world order's principles where the West has held dominance. However, most countries will try to bolster their sovereignty and defend their national interests, traditions, cultures, and way of life. They don’t want to be lectured. They want to trade on equal and equitable terms. For the first time since 1945, we have a chance for genuine democratization in international affairs. And that inspires optimism in everyone who believes in the supremacy of international law. The US and its Western allies try to generate conflicts that would artificially divide humanity into competing blocs and prevent them from achieving shared goals. They want everyone to play according to their own nefarious rules. I would like to call on Western diplomats and politicians to re-read the UN charter, the cornerstone of the world order established after WWII as the democratic principle of the sovereign equality of states. The West still believes that it is stronger and better than the rest of humanity. The head of the EU, Mr. Borrell, is not concerned that the EU is facing an outburst of Islamophobia and intolerance to traditional values of other global religions. The West has used unilateral restrictions as a major violation of the principle of sovereign equality. And those targeted with sanctions know that these restrictions hit the most vulnerable groups of the population and trigger crises in food and energy markets. Russia demands that Western countries immediately lift economic sanctions against Cuba, Venezuela, and Syria. We can not achieve a normalization of the situation in the Middle East without the key issue: settlement of the protracted Palestinian-Israeli conflict. For more than 70 years the Palestinians have been waiting for a state that they were promised but the US is doing everything to avoid this. Decolonization must end in line with UN General Assembly resolutions. Colonial and neocolonial practices must stop. The US must reject an artificial containment of the redistribution of the voting quotas in the World Bank and the IMF. The role of the Global South must be acknowledged. We need to improve the representation of the countries from Latin America, Asia, and Africa. We need to build a new world order where there are no teachers and students, and where all questions are resolved based on consensus reflecting a balance of interests. The G20 must be depoliticized. It must focus on its initial mandate to draft mutually acceptable win-win measures in finance and the economy. We are deeply alarmed that last year Germany, Italy, and Japan voted against a UN resolution against the glorification of Nazism. Have they sincerely repented following their mass crimes against humanity? We are at a crossroads. We need to avert a global war and a disruption of the global mechanisms of cooperation that have been built over so many decades.

OMG THIS IS SO CUTE 😭 tianziyu cp cfans have release a supportive tianziyu fan song and it’s actually fcking good omg 😭💗 the song is gaining a lot of popularity right now in china 💗 TIANZIYU YOU’LL ALWAYS BE LOVED😭💗🙂‍↕️ LYRICS : “Let the world be noisy, love is the only answer — proven in a fleeting moment, proven by Xuning and Ziyu.” A heart with nowhere to rest falls empty, Yet finds peace in the warmth of your gentle eyes. I only wish to possess, to favor and indulge, Even if I must pretend to be naive. Suspecting fate is playing the chessboard, Guiding us from passing by to embracing. Bound in endless chains of pain, Who can see through these layers of disguise? Affection arises unexpectedly (Xu: affection hard to control) A fleeting moment of true heart Surrounded, In the lover’s gaze (Yu), let the world comment (Xu), All for a single instant (Xu: just this instant). A fleeting glance once sealed, Becomes the fingerprint of a long life. I’ve also heard, Tender closeness, love’s warmth lingering, Ears pressed near, feeling the echo of heartbeat, Tell me, have you ever succumbed, Or turned away with clarity? —Xu— Willing to cast aside worldly bounds and cages, Desiring one fearless indulgence, Seeing your bright, vivid eyes, Hiding a trace of gray within. Questioning eternity (Yu: is it love or is it us), Souls burning with passion, Hearts stirred, Seagulls hear the echoes (Xu), fish leap to meet the stars (Yu). Unexpectedly deep feelings, Slowing down the fleeting moment of our embrace, Carving it into the rings of time deep within years. Once witnessed, At sunset, love warming, Surrounding ears with the aftershocks of your song, It is my foolishness that I understand tears can mingle with regret, And love slowly acknowledges itself, Tearing open the pure exterior and innocence, Reaching the unspoken sincerity at the heart’s core. I offer myself (Xu: loving you), Like the sun and moon naturally complementing each other. Even if the world collapses to its end, Only love endures. Why must anyone judge or permit? (Xu: no need to ask) Fate itself will witness it.

Listen, if you’re tired of the diplomatic fluff and want someone to actually call out the chaos, you need to hear this. Claude Malhuret just went absolutely scorched-earth in the French Senate, and frankly, it’s a masterclass in truth-telling. He doesn't hold back on the "madmen" wrecking the global order—slamming putin for his relentless, bloody ego-trip in Ukraine and dragging Trump’s new "circus" of a cabinet for treating foreign policy like a private piggy bank. Malhuret is basically the only adult left in the room, cutting through the MAGA noise and the Kremlin’s lies with the kind of sharp, witty clarity we desperately need right now. It’s brutal, it’s honest, and it’s a total must-watch. Speech by Claude Malhuret regarding the situation in the Near and Middle East: "Mr. President, Mr. Prime Minister, ladies and gentlemen of the Cabinet, in February 2022, a dangerous madman drunk on grandeur lit a fuse in Ukraine that blew up a powder keg and disrupted the world order. The war was supposed to last a week. It is now entering its fifth year. In February 2026, another dangerous madman lit another fuse in the Near East that once again threatens international balance. Was that war also supposed to last a week? One month later, the whole world is asking: 'What is going to happen?' The simple, short, and precise answer is this: God only knows. A year ago in this very place, I compared the Trump presidency to the court of Nero. I was wrong; it is a 'Court of Miracles.' An anti-vax former heroin addict as Secretary of Health; a climate skeptic as Secretary of Econology; an alcoholic TV host as Secretary of Defense; a former agent of Qatar as Attorney General; a putin groupie as National Security Advisor. A Turkish proverb says: 'When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn't become a king; the palace becomes a circus.' This 'fine team' decided to create a competitor to the UN. Since his Peace Council has existed, Trump has launched more military strikes than Biden did during his entire term. Every time an internal scandal resurfaces, bombs explode somewhere in the world as a diversion. Bomb more to gain more. There isn't a country where Trump hasn't taken advantage of the situation to enrich himself, never forgetting his family: a private Boeing gifted by Qatar, investments in all Gulf projects or elsewhere, manipulation of stock market prices benefiting a few insiders. A single one of these conflicts of interest would have triggered an immediate impeachment procedure here, but we are not here—we are in MAGA America: the conduct of public affairs at the service of private interests. After the customs duties, Greenland, the abandonment of Ukraine, the humiliation of allies, the ineffective back-and-forth in Venezuela and so many others, a new senseless adventure begins. Let me be clearly understood: I am the last to complain about the decapitation of the Mullahs' regime and the first to demand freedom for the Iranian people. But what is the strategy to achieve it? And have the collateral damages, including for the Iranians, been measured? The answer is: there is no strategy, and collateral damages are written off as losses. Just as in January, when Trump called on Iranians to take to the streets, only to leave them to be massacred by the Basij. After the pretext of an 'imminent' Iranian atomic bomb—contradicted by the Director of American Intelligence herself—and then the argument for regime change, it is Marco Rubio who finally let the cat out of the bag: we went in because we followed Netanyahu. In other words, we have no objective of our own. Trump ignored the warnings of the few who had the courage to tell him what would obviously happen: the blocking of the Strait of Hormuz, the extension of the war to the entire Near East, and finally the global repercussions. 1/3

The Sleeping Beauty – Rose Adage: When a Moment of Balance Reveals the Order of Life In the story of The Sleeping Beauty, the Rose Adage takes place during Princess Aurora’s coming-of-age celebration. It is the first time she appears before the court after reaching maturity. Four princes approach her one by one and invite her to dance, creating a ceremonial moment that represents Aurora’s growth and her new place within the world around her. But the beauty of this scene does not lie only in the elegance of a royal ceremony. Throughout the dance, Aurora must receive the hand of each prince, moving from one partner to another while maintaining complete control of her body. She must stand on pointe shoes, sustain each position with stability, and yet preserve a sense of lightness and grace. Therefore, the technical challenge of ballet becomes more than a physical demand. It becomes an image of a significant transition in the character’s life. Aurora is not only learning how to stand firmly on the stage. She is entering a new world, where beauty does not come only from outward elegance, but also from the ability to maintain inner calm and balance. On stage, Princess Aurora appears in a magnificent palace setting. She does not captivate the audience through powerful movements or dramatic displays. Her beauty lies in subtle control: A hand extended with delicacy. A slow and measured step. A moment of stillness that appears fragile, yet contains strength. What moves the audience is not only the dancer’s technical ability. It is the feeling that everything is exactly where it should be. The body. The music. The space. And the emotion. Everything comes together in a state of balance. That is what makes the Rose Adage so special. If viewed only from the outside, it is a demanding challenge of classical ballet. But when we listen more carefully, we discover that this sense of balance was already built into Tchaikovsky’s music. The dancer is not simply moving along with the melody. She is giving physical form to an order that already exists within the music itself. So what makes this music so distinctive? Is it a single note? Perhaps not. A single note standing alone cannot create the beauty of the Rose Adage. The life of the work comes from the relationship between the sounds: the way they support, guide, and complete one another. From the very first sounds of the harp, Tchaikovsky creates a world of clarity and refinement. Its gentle tone feels like a door opening, inviting the listener into a space where every movement becomes more delicate. Then the melody gradually rises. But it does not rush toward drama. It develops step by step, always finding support before moving further. This controlled ascent creates a feeling of nobility and serenity, much like Aurora standing en pointe: graceful, yet grounded. Tchaikovsky’s harmony follows the same principle. He creates moments of anticipation that allow the listener to sense movement, and then guides the music back toward stability. The tension does not continue in order to create unease. Instead, it becomes part of the journey toward balance. The rhythm of the Rose Adage also resembles the natural rhythm of the human body. It neither pushes forward impatiently nor holds back unnecessarily. Each musical phrase opens, develops, reaches a point of emphasis, and gently settles, like a cycle of breathing: rising, holding, and returning. For this reason, the music and choreography of the Rose Adage do not feel like two separate elements. They are two expressions of the same principle. Outwardly, there is stillness. Inwardly, there is constant movement. This also reflects a familiar principle within the human body. When a dancer stands still on pointe, the audience sees only stability. Yet inside the body, the nervous system, vision, inner ear, and muscles are continuously adjusting to maintain balance. Stability does not come from the absence of movement. It comes from the ability to make continuous adjustments in order to remain balanced. Life itself works in a similar way. A tree does not grow through a rigid straight line. It reaches toward the light while constantly adapting to wind, gravity, and its surrounding environment. Human beings are the same. Every step we take involves small moments of imbalance followed by the search for balance again. We move forward through the body’s and mind’s ability to constantly adapt. Perhaps this is also why people often feel drawn to harmonious movements, steady rhythms, and balanced forms. In everyday life, these qualities are often associated with a sense of order, stability, and smooth interaction between different elements. Art does not create this way of feeling. It awakens and reorganizes something that human beings already recognize through life itself. When music, movement, space, and emotion operate together as one whole, the audience does not simply see a beautiful performance. They recognize a familiar pattern of existence: many different elements cooperating to create a state that is stable, yet still alive and moving. Perhaps this is why the Rose Adage continues to touch audiences across generations. Its beauty does not lie only in a beautiful melody or exceptional ballet technique. Its deeper meaning lies in revealing a principle that human beings continue to encounter within their own bodies and in the natural world: Harmony is not a state of complete stillness. It is the ability of many different elements to adjust together and form a unified whole. The Rose Adage is therefore more than a ballet scene. It is the image of a person learning how to stand firmly amid the changes of life, and at the same time, it reflects the nature of life itself: always moving, always adjusting, yet still finding its own balance.
