Situation Update: Additional police reinforcements deployed to the Nairobi CBD area

They told us June 25 is a commemoration, not a protest. So why does the city look like it's preparing for an invasion? Razor wire. Barricades. Water cannons. Hundreds of police officers. What exactly are they expecting from people who are only coming to remember?

Ama polisi ndio wana andamana???

The government has panicked real time

they meant it's a normal working day for the police 🤣

They will not believe

The Gen Z have achieved what they wanted. Today is a public holiday by default. You can win a war without fighting.

Surely not a normal day.

@kipmurkomen you said it's a normal working day,,, why have mounted road blocks everywhere,,, people can't get to work

Wametoka briefing state hus

But there are no protesters on sight.. why the heavy deployment?

This is so good. The government doing it for us

Why deploy police to peaceful maandamano??

I wish this were being brought in to.ensure a peacfull protest
