I was unfortunate enough to have a 556 casing land in between my eye pro while testing for expert marksman. I finished shooting about 4 mags, 10 bullets a piece with pauses in between before I finally reached up to see what was making my head hurt. Hot brass is NOT that bad.

Always make the gun safe. Slide pulled back, no msg or round in chamber. Set it down that way muzzle pointed down range. Then do whatever you have to do. Never deviate from this or any of the 4 cardinal rules of firearm safety.
