My wife hates Slayer. She once said it sounds like a 100 ft. tall elephant charging through miles of barbed wire and I couldn’t imagine a better or more complimentary description.

Slayer - ‘Raining Blood’, New York, 1986…this song just sparks something in the cells of all metal heads. Primal!

Slayer rehearsing “Raining Blood” in a garage next to a cemetery in 1986. Even the address was on brand.

No paró de ver la presentación de #Slayer, en el "Live At Black Sabbath Back to the Beginning Concert", es que fue mastodóntico. Raining Blood.

#Slayer. 1991. The best thing about seeing bands in their hey day is the setlists were gold top-to-bottom. None of the crap to sit through after they’d peaked — so what we have here is Slayer playing “Raining Blood” pivoting into “Black Magic”, I mean come on just look at this!

On This Day in Metal July 11, 2004 Slayer took a break from Ozzfest to headline the Augusta Civic Center in Augusta, Maine—a performance that would become legendary as it was filmed for the Gold-certified Still Reigning live DVD. Featuring the classic lineup of Tom Araya, Kerry King, Jeff Hanneman, and Dave Lombardo, the band unleashed Reign in Blood in its entirety. The unforgettable finale saw Slayer drenched in theatrical stage blood during “Raining Blood,” creating one of the most iconic moments in live metal history. Were you there, or is Still Reigning your favorite Slayer live release? #Slayer #ReignInBlood #StillReigning #ThrashMetal #HeavyMetal

Slayer playing “Raining Blood” live on the South of Heaven tour at Hammersmith Odeon in London, a song so vicious and perfectly built that even decades later, that intro still sounds like the gates of heaven getting kicked in.
