Sledge Hammer - Anyone else remember? 🤣😇

I watched this with my dad, I'll never forget the episode where the guy blows through the school crosswalk, and sledge hammer shoots the car.

My favourite part is the captain's reaction in the next scene: "You couldn't resist it, could you Hammer? You couldn't resist blowing up a BUILDING on your way to work this morning, could you HAMMER?" Brilliant line and delivery.

Best series finale ever- Show was cancelled so they nuked LA in the last episode. Unfortunately over the summer the series was renewed last minute so they had to take it all back at the beginning of the next season. Hilarious.

David lived a couple of blocks from me in Brooklyn. I would see him in the local hardware store from time to time. He was doing work on his own place. Gave hime a ride home a couple of times. Cool dude. I think most of the rest of his career was spent on Broadway.

I vaguely remember a catch phrase. Something like, "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

I loved the show. It turns out they thought the show wouldn't be renewed so they killed him off in the last episode of the season. Then the network renewed it!

Hammer creates police robots and calls them Hammer Roids. Priceless 🤣

Late Friday night TV here in the UK late 80s. Followed by Married with Children. Good times.

Just finished watching through this series a few weeks ago. Hilarious, and brought back some good youthful memories when entertainment media wasn't all garbage.
