Slender Man is one of the creepiest examples of the internet creating its own modern folklore. He was created in 2009 by Eric Knudsen, under the name Victor Surge, for a Photoshop contest on the Something Awful forums. The idea was simple: make fake paranormal images that looked like they had a disturbing backstory. What started as two edited black-and-white photos of a faceless figure watching children quickly spread into creepypastas, fan art, YouTube series like Marble Hornets, games, and endless “found footage” horror. The scary part is that Slender Man never had one official story. The internet built the myth together.

She was found with Chad “Charly” Mecca, 43, who told officers Geyser ran because of him. He strongly advised residents to stop polluting the river, noting that the waste is harmful to the crocodiles.
