Made in USA anything will nearly always cost more than imported alternatives (for now.) But, I refuse to be a hypocrite that’s cries, “I wish we made more things in America!” While ignoring high quality, well made, and appropriately priced USA-made products.

For ordinary people this is good, but companies and farmers would lose part of their income. I think we can all agree this Super Bowl Sunday that Shrinkflation is wrong. If you are going to sell less in a package, make the package smaller. Stop using deception to rationalize a rise in price to consumers. Either provide more to the consumer, or make your product so good that they don't care that they get less. As a consumer I reward honesty and quality. While we are at it let's also hold companies accountable for the crap that they put in our foods to make them taste better, last longer or cost less.

Over the last 200 years, we've automated away a lot of hard physical labour. But people still go to the gym. Indeed, many people today are more physically capable than people in the past. We can train systematically for whatever physical goal we want, and it's more fun than hard labour on a pre-modern farm. Andrej Karpathy's hope is that, in the future, the same will be true of learning. AI tutoring that's tailored to each person will make learning easy, and more people will want to do it. We will be able to go much further than our ancestors.

WE ARE ALL LEARING THE HARD WAY The infamous Quality LEARING Center is caught in more lies as they received $1.9 Million this year in 2025 and were shut down a week ago according to the Children Commissioner yet they continue to “operate” to try and save face as they have been caught. Also now the Department of Health and Human services have frozen ALL child care payments to the state of Minnesota, they will now only be released when there is proof they are being spent legitimately. People don't realize that factories in Asia and factories in the USA are totally different. I think AI is going to help the Asian factories much more than the American ones. Factories in Asia are high mix. Factories in the USA are low mix. This means that factories in the USA make significantly fewer products, whereas factories in Asia are way more flexible, mainly because of the huge differential in labor costs. The gigafactory in Austin, one of the biggest factories in the world, makes 2 products: Tesla Model Y The Cybertruck That's it. The factory in the video makes 1000s of different products every year. When you're making the same thing over and over again, maybe in a few different colors, you're much better off using normal automation which is lower error than AI and human design. But when you're making 1000s of different products, using AI to spin up product 1001 starts to kind of make sense. There is not time or logic to using traditional automation; you're better off using AI to make a fast quality control mechanism and then repair errors using your inexpensive human labor. People are viewing AI in factories like there is one type of factory, but the way factories run in high cost countries vs. low cost countries is wildly different. We're just at the beginning of what will be an epic change for not only manufacturing, but the cost and quality of the goods we consume. The real internet of things has arrived.

Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos has joined Meta's Mark Zuckerberg in donating $1 million to President Trump's inauguration fund. There are a lot of cynical takes here, and they might be true, but there's a more optimistic take. A theme I've heard directly from Silicon Valley folks over the past few months is a realization Democrats have made their lives miserable for years. They're relieved. They know Trump will be good for their businesses, and he loves American companies. They are optimistic. They're either lying, or there is legitimately a broad, red-pilling of tech. I hope it's the later.

It is always the same question, why in the world would I want to leave America and move to India? 🇺🇸🇮🇳 This well-meaning question often communicates two things. 1. India is a lesser place to live and I am worse off for being here. 2. America is a better place to live and I would be crazy to leave. I hope to challenge these two assumptions and show people that I don't think either of these statements are true. I think my kids are being set up for a more successful life and future in India. They will have such a rich life, experiences, and community that they would never have gotten in the USA. I hear from many Indians living abroad that they miss India and want to go back. They think they will have a better life somewhere else, but it isn't until they leave that they realize how great they actually had it back home. I believe wholeheartedly that there is more to life than just money. Sure there is more money in the USA, but there is much more wealth in India when it comes to things like community, relationships, experiences, and joy.
