Slow play!! ⛳️ what’s your take?

Most of it is talking bollocks with the caddie. Caddies should be cleaning clubs and giving yardages. Not yapping about how they emotionally feel about a shot and reminding the player for 5 minutes to follow the process.

Completely agree Sarah, I’ve said it for a long time & it’s such a simple solution using shot clocks. ⏱️ I’m quite sure if you tell them you’ve got one minute too play a shot when you reach the ball or you lose one shot ,we wouldn’t see anymore 5+ hr epic rounds. Golf unfortunately is being controlled by people who aren’t fit for purpose & it’s so sad watching the game decline the way it is at the moment . Now I’m hearing YouTube Golf is a thing just like LIV, & TGL. 🙈 Call me old school but says it all really .I haven’t watched a single shot of any of the above & hopefully never will but it’s no surprise audiences are looking elsewhere with the awful state golf’s in at the moment. Old Tom Morris must be turning in his grave 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⛳️

It’s such a turn off. Can’t argue with anything you said. There has to be sanctions in shots lost. 5 1/2 hours to hit only 70 or so shots is horrific.

It's actually getting worse, too, not better. They watch their playing partner take 2/3 minutes to discuss the club/yardage with their caddy... and then do the same when it's their turn! They should be ready to play.

Definitely a shot clock is needed, and a stroke deduction. Money finds aren’t cutting it

Viewing figures down, due to many things. As a brit I watch pga, but it is so polite and dull. Make it more relatable to the masses-Penalties for slow play, not interacting with crowd and media etc. Players need to realise that sponsors and money are not infinite.

Rules officials have to apply the rules….. Simples 🙄

Charley Hull has some great ideas on slow play. 3 warnings in around = 2 shot penalty. Repeated offences = loss of tour card (maybe 1 or 2 tournaments but increasing). I get conditions can have an effect on timings along with the course layout ala The Old Course.

The sanctions are already available to the officials but they are too scared to penalise the superstars... Anytime a player is sanctioned it's usually a kid(US Masters) or an unknown
