If you follow my stuff, these features might sound familiar. There’s a good reason for that, and it’s worth knowing. So what does it do? It improves how the network handles delays in transaction data, it lets developers upgrade whole groups of smart contracts at once, and it lets them change stored data more safely as their apps evolve. If you saw my Stellar video, that’s the exact same upgrade Stellar just did. That’s not a coincidence. $PI is actually built on Stellar’s technology. So when $XLM ships a protocol upgrade, Pi inherits the same one. That’s why they line up. As for the timing, node operators need to upgrade by October 13th, and Pi’s planning to bring it to the mainnet on October 16th. Nothing dramatic. Just Pi keeping pace with the tech it’s built on.

PiPay aims to serve as a global payment platform and has been in the works by Mr. Kosasih (kosasih). According to Dimas, Kosasih has been responsible for previous programming efforts, including OnRamp Pi and Pi Oracle. However, official Pi Network (Pi Network) developments revolve around Open Network utility, merchant payments, and the Protocol 27 launch in September 2026 that brings smart contracts and decentralized exchange. Services by third parties, such as OpenPay, can facilitate conversion of PI into stablecoins like OUSD for payments and QR payments.
