I'm 67, if my grandpa could see this shit. We used to sit cedar posts with a chainsaw, dig post holes with hand posthole diggers and stretch the wire with a come along.

@MAC_ARMY1 I think it’s fascinating how older men become much more savvy with industrial technology once they lose access to younger men’s strong backs. I remember how my dad got a log splitter after I grew up and moved out. I’m living into this reality now. 😂

I could hire human fence builders and feed them for an entire year for what this equipment cost

@CRIXUSwasHERE Little old me and my post hole digger and my truck did a helluva job around 2 acres. My husband got home from work and was speechless. Poles were all in and in concrete. Next day was wire day. Everyone underestimates me.

@ToniLL22 My son decided to fence in our little acreage. Bout 300 post. He thought he was going to hand drive them. I gave him my t-post driver & put him to it. 3 & he got the idea there’s an easier way. Gas powered driver $260 delivered. Less than a $ a post. 30 seconds-done. Not to deep!

My neighbour put up NZ fencing using driven posts. OTOH, I installed NZ fencing using hand dug holes and concrete. My posts are still standing after 30 yrs. His all collapsed before 10 yrs.

The smart part was likely buying the only ranch for miles around that you can drive post into obviously soft soil with no rocks.

Those wires aren't tight, and can't be stretched steepling them in as you go.
