Smith asked if she would speak directly to FIrst Nations leaders... "Look, this is all The Media™️'s fault. Plus they can start their own referendum if they want! California!" #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

Bringing petitions forward on rent control hardly compares to changing legislation to bring forward a request for separation. Smith is once again manipulating Albertans.

So lemme break this down for you @TheBreakdownAB in the simplest terms possible for your audience. This is Treaty 6,7, and 8. Yes, each treaty made it's own deal with the Crown. With that in mind, keeping it as 'simple' as that - she has no jurisdiction over those lands. This means 'separation' ain't in the cards. Getting a bit more specific (and where things get really complicated), is 'think of each individual nation within these treaties as 'more or less' their own 'little countries'. To varying extents, to do 'business' with private companies/orgs/etc. -> They had to cut a deal with the crown (each nation, all a bit different). That allows for these 'countries' to have some degree of self-determination. Nutshell: We have a bunch of 'little countries' that, sure, could technically be 'bought off' by the Premier - but to give an estimate of numbers.... Treaty 8 has 24 communities = 24 countries that still involve the crown, the province, and private organizations. It is 'technically possible' to somehow get all of these 'little countries' on board by the province 'cutting deals' with all of them, but that would require them to: 1) Give up on deals made with the Crown, and let the crown 'off the hook' regarding it's obligations (and get the Crown's 'go-ahead'). 2) Give up their rights as #indigenous peoples, as outlined within the treaties. 3) Somehow not only get all these 'little countries' on board, but also Treaty 6, 7, and 8 and their governing bodies on board. So yes, it is possible*** But, I'm going to take a guess, that @ABDanielleSmith does not have the cash on hand to pull all of this off. I mean, if the Federal Government can't even (still a 'work in progress') fulfill it's promises to these Treaties & communities (i.e. they don't have the cash) - something tells me: a) They ain't going to give up efforts to have promises fulfilled that are making traction. b) If the Federal Government can't get it done, what on earth would make 'boredrichhousewife' think she can? With all of that - it's still a 'summary' - it's so complicated, it's wild. Which for me, begs the question - what in the heck is she going on about this for anyways? She may be terrible at what she does, but she is intelligent, so a tantrum probably isn't it. What is she distracting from and dragging #indigenous people into the conversation for??? hmmmm

Aren't the people of Alberta embarrassed to have this turnip represent them politically? Hand to Christ, I can't remember a premier this fucking dumb.

It’s laughable that Smith is trying to suggest that her legislative changes to the referendum requirements have nothing to do with her trying to foment a WEXIT referendum in AB.

The Blackfoot Confederacy Chiefs put out this letter to Smith and her divisive chirping - Siksika, Kainai, Piikani FYI - This is not only our traditional territory, it’s our ancestral territory. Niitsitapi have been here for Millenia. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

She reminds me of Trump. Blaming the media for making her look bad, when she’s making herself look bad. Why doesn’t she try speaking to the new PM first, rather than berating him publicly?

All of this is Trump's playbook. Distract, deflect, deny. Smith knows the separation will go nowhere, but what a great way for her to shift the focus from her crimes. This needs to stop, and all Albertans need to keep their eyes on the truth. Danielle Smith is unfit to lead.

Will this petition thing work for removing Danielle Smith as leader? Is there already one started?
