But I just feel like here’s this man who is masculine without being weirdly alpha, who hunts, who shoots, who was a teacher, who is a veteran. He’s just a good dad and a great husband, and he believes in the nation. He’s not trying to be president, doesn’t have bigger ambitions, and he’s happy to be second banana to a woman. It’s like you made him in a lab as the perfect candidate. He talks to us with common sense.

NAMJOON: We went through a long difficult time because of our military enlistment issue. There was a lot of talk about it. Even when I'd be at a bar people at the next table would be talking about it without knowing I was there "Is it right for them to do that?" We heard that so much and just around that time so many things happened to me personally and I had a lot on my mind about what I should do. Going through that I just thought I should pour it all out and leave a record and be as honest as I could be. And I think I was. the fact that they heard people talk ☹️☹️

The thing about being president is that reality eventually starts to intervene. And this isn’t unique to Trump — a lot of presidents imagine they can control and shape reality. But ultimately, each of these things is a risk, right? Like, you bang FEMA around, you cut 20% of the weather balloons, and maybe you get away with it… Or maybe there’ll be a horrible disaster. And I think this administration — you definitely see it at Health and Human Services, which we haven’t even talked about — they’re just willing to run huge risks. And when something really does go wrong, I think obviously they’ll be blamed.

This idea that he’s a “non-factor”—well, why were you hanging around with non-factors, Mr. President? What was that about? I think he’s making it worse now that he’s seemingly privy to everything in the files—and suddenly doesn’t want to release them. There are still people who are surprised to learn he doesn’t actually have a lot of business acumen.
