Smith is legislating morality when it isn't needed. If the family is supportive, this legislation is not required. If the family is not supportive, then the legislation will not help them.

The recent surge in cases and deaths among children is of particular concern, along with the re-emergence of Clade One in central Africa. We need to strengthen surveillance and diagnostic capacity, ensure robust community engagement, and widen access to vaccines where they are needed for people at risk to stop the spread of mpox.
