More notes: - They should intersperse replays/clips from the real game to expose kids watching (even tho it breaks kayfabe) - Get kids on the broadcast (players' kids, famous kids, youth hockey players; NFL x Nick does this a bit more) - Is 'kid-ifying' a traditional broadcast the right route or should the paradigm be re-thought (more Manningcast-like, less pxp?). The Sphere’s big bet on “The Wizard of Oz” is paying off. James Dolan licensed the classic 1939 film and spent ~$100m adapting it for the Sphere’s 160,000 sq foot LED screen. Since August 28, it’s making up to $2m a day (with a full-run target of $1B). About 4-5k people are paying $150-200 each per show and there are 2-3x shows a day. At the Sphere, films are much more lucrative than live acts because the venue can play them more often and the margins (70%) are higher than paying out pop stars (musicians get to keep most of the ticket sales while Sphere gets the F&B). The Sphere’s 2025 revenue is estimated at: ▫️$400m from films ▫️$200m from live concerts Editing of “The Wizard of Oz” included using AI to update scenes and cutting off ~30 minutes of run time (the viewing length is 70 minutes). The $2.3B venue also has 4D effects with the film (wind during tornado, falling apples, lots of fog, flames). Can “Wizard of Oz” actually hit $1B? When Elon Musk and Tesla let me, and millions of other owners, add our own cars to the Tesla Robotaxi network via a software update, it’s going to be the greatest wealth CREATION in human history. I get it. For the first time ever, a Tesla will become an $ income producing asset bc your Tesla will be able to drive itself while you’re sleeping, working, or even on vacation. This is NOT a sci-fi idea anymore. Elon has been clear for years. The hardware is already in the cars and the thing that will unlock this is going to be software. Here’s a simple version of how it’s going to work imo: 1/ A software update turns your Tesla into a robotaxi 2/ You opt in with one tap in the Tesla app 3/ Your car gives rides when you’re not using it 4/ Tesla takes a cut, you keep the rest 5/ You can pull your car out anytime, you have full control Think Airbnb, but for cars. Now on the $ generation side, this is where it can get a bit wild. Elon has said a high use robotaxi could generate ~$30,000 per year per car, and even more in busy cities. That means, 1/ A car payment pays for itself 2/ A car can become your own business 3/ And for some people, this can allow them to become financially free Elon even said robotaxi earnings should far exceed monthly car payments... this will completely flip how we think about owning a vehicle. A lot of long time Tesla investors call this the “greatest wealth transfer in history”… Elon corrected that and said something important: “Not transfer of wealth, CREATION of wealth. The pie gets much bigger.” And I believe he’s right. Autonomy makes transportation cheaper, safer, and available 24/7. This saves time, reduces accidents, lowers costs for everyone, and unlocks $ trillions of dollars in new economic value that NEVER existed before. Elon has also said: “The day FSD (w/ this Robotaxi feature) goes to wide release will be one of the biggest asset value increases in history.” That will be the day when cars are viewed as an appreciating asset instead of a depreciating asset! The scale is hard to wrap my head around tbh bc: • There are already millions of Teslas on the road • Even a small % opt-in rate creates massive fleets overnight, Waymo is screwed imo with their peanut sized 2,500 fleet • No new factories are needed • No new drivers needed Just pure AI software. Bro… this moment is going to be REALLY big. This could be the first time in human history where regular people like you and me get access to automation and making $ at scale, instead of only the big players and corporations. And when this switch flips, the way we view a car, specifically a Tesla will never look the same again. (FYI, once Elon and Tesla give me the green light, I plan on buying ~25 Teslas outright and put them into the Robotaxi network to show the world exactly what I mean)

Since its release in August, the adapted 1939 classic film has made ~$300m (and sells $2m tickets a day). Sphere stock up 2x (to $4B) over the span and the playbook for global expansion is clear. At the Sphere, films are much more lucrative than live acts because the venue can play them more often and the margins (70%) are higher than paying out pop stars (musicians get to keep most of the ticket sales while Sphere gets the F&B). 🚨#Earth2 update 🌏✌️ First I'd like to apologise to our community for the lateness of this message. I was still considering a traditional last timezone #Q2 release but honestly we could use a little more time. As you can see in the screen recording, we've been extremely busy the past 3 months with multiple commits per day on average from our dev team & this recording is only of commits made directly to our #E2V1 repository. It does not include #BE / Server repository commits or tasks completed for custom development from our VFX, SFX, Concept Art & Animation teams or the countless other points of progressive development. While there are some in our community who would better understand what multiple daily repo commits means, the video footage just helps others to visualise how much work goes into the development of just one facet of Earth 2, and even though we may not publish a lot of public updates, we are extremely busy & focused on development & progress behind the scenes. Sometimes you lose track of time with so many different developments in progress. Excitingly for everyone, Chapter 1 is a very big release for us & includes some very important updates that will introduce the foundations for activity & experiences inside #E2V1. There are many moving parts & many new mechanisms we've had to design, develop & implement into an incredibly large, seamless, open world just to make Chapter 1 possible. We're also building a persistent world, meaning we're not just developing for a single player local PC environment, which would be much, much easier, but instead requires a lot of API & server integration for almost every feature implemented - and that doesn't even involve the multiplayer networking element which we've also made good progress on throughout #Q2. We're not implementing API & server integration only for a persistent world, but also to mitigate against hacking. I just wanted to provide this update & apologise for the lateness of this notification. Remember, we are still in a pre-alpha stage so there are inevitably going to be bugs & issues. Seeing as though we are going to miss #Q2 anyway, we could use another week or two to fix some known bugs & make it a little smoother. It won't be longer than that & even though it's not a lot of additional time in the big picture, I still said #Q2 & I apologise that we are going to overshoot that time frame. We will aim to publish an article this weekend to provide everyone with an in depth explanation behind the early access release & I think that article will help our community understand just how much work has gone into the past 3 months by our team. I’m on a plane back from a week in Los Angeles and some lessons there shocked me. I met w/ a billionaire, Bryan Johnson, a top 10 podcaster, an A24 movie exec, and a Presidential candidate. 12 learnings from too many meetings to count in Hollywood: 1. LA is not dead. Far from it. I ran into 5 people who I needed to meet with at one hotel in 4 days. The epicenter of media may be disaggregating to Austin, NY and globally... but the density is still here. 2. Bryan Johnson is now one of my favorite humans. I hung with him at his house, tried his 20,000 crunches in 30 minutes machine, and talked about the purpose of life. The internet is a sad state that they don’t give him more credit. 3. Digital media today is like distributed news before cable news. We are at a tipping point for expansion in this digital industry. It feels somehow played out to those of us in it, but it’s just starting. 4. Hollywood is watching creators and UGC closely. I met w/ one exec who said in the not so distant future Netflix will have UGC on it. 5. may be this generation's Anthony Bourdain for thinking. I sat down with him and I think the work he’s doing on youtube is going to be something to watch... closely. 6. Buying boring businesses is not at all interesting to those in LA. BUT - asset accumulation and portfolios are. They buy assets (film rights, etc) all day. They are starting to think about the business of celebrities, creators and their work similar to how I think of investment management. 7. LA is a tale of two cities. I spoke at the convention center that was surrounded by derelict minority businesses and houses, then hung out at private members-only clubs that are all over West Hollywood where Lebron, Chris Voss and all the big timers play. The two places are 10 minutes away but an absolute world apart. 8. The mental health and drug crisis is out of control. Stroll along a downtown street and zombie after zombie trails. I saw people shitting and eating next to one another and across from a Starbucks. I asked our corporate host if this was “normal?” They replied, you stop noticing it after awhile. 9. Offices are completely empty. A friend got an office space for 50% off and more than 40% of the highrise is unoccupied. How odd that home prices are high, housing is really tough to come by, but office space is a blue ocean. 10. Met up with Tulsi Gabbard 🌺, a friend who was traveling to the border to see the situation live. I am grateful to have people fight for the truth even when it is unpopular. We need more leaders like her. 11. Every time I meet with a billionaire I realize all over again that to achieve that level of wealth, you cannot be normal. Truly. He’s weirdly comfortable with discomfort and complete lack of people pleasing. 12. The more I learn about the Kardashians in some ways, the more I respect them. I got the onion peeled back on their business dealings and they are some of the smartest dealmakers I’ve ever seen. Also I hate saying it because I believe gender games are net negative, but I wonder if they’d get so much hate if they weren’t females? I liked the idea of keeping a travel diary like my friend GREG ISENBERG does… Otherwise these moments pass like sand through my fingers. What do you think?
