This reminds me of that old story from the Tokyo zoo where the rat snake just straight up refused to eat the hamster and they ended up living together for months. Nature can be surprisingly chill sometimes.

For those who need context: This happened back in 2006 at the Mutsugoro Okoku Zoo in Tokyo. The zookeepers gave a hamster, which was later named Gohan, to a rat snake name Aochan. But instead of eating him, the snake became friends with it.

I’m sorry. The hamster’s name is ‘Gohan’ that means rice. And that just makes my heart and the snake’s name is ‘Aochan’ and this is just a guess but Aochan means blue and a term of endearment (did I get that right ?)
