In a rare Jan 2024 interview, Brown signaled that he sought to prevent war with Iran. Asked whether the US is "not being tough enough on Iran", Gen. Brown responded: "Do you want us in a full-scale war? ...We don’t want to go down a path of greater escalation that drives to a much broader conflict within the region."
