Cordell Broadus has reportedly revealed what led to his father, Snoop Dogg, cutting ties with him. According to Broadus, Snoop gave him $300,000 as a teenager to launch his music career, buy a home, and cover his expenses. He later gambled away nearly all of the money while watching a Kai Cenat livestream during a BetMGM promotion. Broadus said he called his father to explain what happened, but Snoop was furious and ended the call. He later asked Dr. Dre to intervene, but Snoop reportedly refused, saying he wanted nothing more to do with him.

Snoop Dogg reacts to Warren G's recent interview, saying he wants to hang out with Snoop & Dr Dre, and that he couldn't get backstage to their Superbowl show "Warren G... the best friend that I got that only me and him understand each other... this music industry is trifling... think about how he brought me to Death Row but Death Row didn't sign him, so there's a lot of animosity... and anger in him... not at me but at the situation at whole... his relationship with Dr Dre is his relationship... his relationship with me is our relationship... when I'm working with Dr Dre, I don't bring nobody with me... I work with Pharrell by myself, Dr Dre by myself..." (via The Breakfast Club)

Snoop Dogg shares the unbelievable story of how Dr. Dre discovered him. “One day, Warren G was at a bachelor party for one of Dre’s homeboys. The music cut off, so he threw my tape in, and the whole party started rocking Dre asked, ‘Who that?’, Warren G said, ‘That’s my homie Snoop I was telling you about.” “Not long after, Dre called me but I thought somebody was playing on my phone. I said, ‘Man, this ain’t no motherfucking Dr. Dre,’ and hung up.” “He called right back, warren G said, ‘Snoop, cuz, I got Dre on the phone, I picked up, and Dre said, ‘I like that mixtape. What you doing Thursday? Come by the studio.” “So me, Warren G, and my homeboy Rump drove over there, I was nervous because I had no idea what to expect.” “Dre put on James Brown’s “The Big Payback” and said, ‘Rap over this, So I did.” “When I finished, he didn’t ask for another take. I asked, ‘Did I do it right? He said, ‘Yeah… that shit cool.’” “Looking back, that was my audition. Dre was seeing if I was really built for it, that was my one shot.”

Snoop Dogg has had a change of heart about same sex couples after previously stirring up controversy with comments on the topic over the summer. On Wednesday (Oct. 16), Snoop linked up with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation for Spirit Day, an annual initiative to support LGBTQ youth. Uncle Snoop sat down with The Voice contestant Jeremy Beloate in an interview shared on YouTube, where the rap icon talked about a new song titled “Love is Love,” which is featured in a new episode of Snoop’s animated children’s series Doggyland on YouTube. "It’s teaching parenthood. It’s teaching situations that kids in the world is going through right now in a beautiful way through song, dance, melody, just trying to get more clarity on how we live and the way we live," Snoop said. "And I felt like this music is a beautiful bridge to bringing understanding," he added. "This is a program we’ve been doing for years where we involve kids. These are things that kids have questions about so now hopefully we can help answer these questions and help them to live a happy life and understand that love is love." Snoop's new alliance with the LGBTQ community comes after he faced backlash for being critical of a scene in the 2022 film Lightyear that features a lesbian couple kissing and raising a child back in August. The rapper commented on the It's Giving podcast that the scene "f**ked him up" and made him "scared to go to the movies" with his grandkids.

This is not entirely true‼️ I gat you‼️ Napoleon (Mutah Beale) of the Outlawz, who was around Pac on Death Row has told this story on *The Art of Dialogue*. Method Man was in the circle (he recorded on what became Pac’s “Got My Mind Made Up”), but his stories are about the session and a brief first meeting with Pac — not Snoop being jealous‼️. Napoleon’s version⁉️ Napoleon says Snoop was Death Row’s biggest star when Pac arrived in 1995‼️. Pac immediately took the shine: *All Eyez on Me*, the energy, the interviews, the myth‼️. Twenty-five-plus years later, almost every Snoop interview still brings Pac up‼️. Napoleon’s read is that Snoop is now saying things he never said to Pac’s face, and that some of the “praise” is actually him trying to claw the spotlight back‼️. He also called Snoop out for publicly saying he didn’t like “Hit ’Em Up” and for the late-period interviews where Snoop describes the friendship going cold two days before Pac died‼️. What actually happened between them (the part everyone agrees on) Snoop has told this himself: a week before Pac died they were still tight‼️. Then Snoop got shot at while shooting the “New York, New York” video‼️. He went on radio and said he still liked Puffy and Biggie and wanted to work with them‼️. Pac heard it as disloyalty after Pac had been riding for the whole Death Row roster‼️. Snoop has said he doesn’t think Pac liked him those last two days‼️. Suge Knight has added a more dramatic version: Pac came to his hotel room furious after hearing the interview, wanted to fight Snoop, and later Snoop refused to ride in the same car as Pac because he thought Pac was “crazy.”‼️ Method Man’s stories⁉️ - The song that became “Got My Mind Made Up” was originally a Dogg Pound record (Daz, Kurupt, Rage, Meth, Redman, Inspectah Deck)‼️. When Pac came home, Death Row handed him the track‼️. Meth and Redman’s verses stayed; others got cut‼️. Meth has said he didn’t even remember the session until he heard it on New York radio‼️. - He met Pac once, briefly, in a club while on mushrooms‼️. Pac was complimentary toward Wu-Tang (“if we fuck with anybody on the East it would be y’all”)‼️. Suge stood there silent with a cigar. Meth and his people sat in the Pink Dot alley afterward talking about how weird the whole night felt‼️. Daz has pushed back on the jealousy narrative entirely: “How can we be jealous of 2Pac and we made 2Pac⁉️ We put that album together.”‼️ So the “Snoop was jealous / Pac took his shine” story that people repeat is Napoleon’s, not Method Man’s‼️. The concrete falling-out is the New York shooting + Snoop’s radio comments about Bad Boy‼️. Everything else is interpretation from people who were in the room and have their own grudges‼️.

Nipsey Hussle's Marathon Burger opened its new location in California over the weekend, and stars like Snoop Dogg, YG, Stevie Wonder and more showed up to celebrate the event. On Sunday (March 1), Nipsey's brother, Blacc Sam, spearheaded the opening of the fourth Marathon Burger in Long Beach, Calif. Hundreds of fans showed up for the grand opening, which was star-studded. Snoop Dogg, a Long Beach native and investor in the location, showed up and helped pass out food to the throng of customers who showed up to get a first look at the brand-new eatery. YG and radio host Big Boy were also in the building. The two purchased 120 burgers and gave them to customers. Musical icon Stevie Wonder also dropped by to check out the fare. The opening of the Long Beach location marked the one-year-anniversary since Marathon Burger opened its first location on Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles. The successful opening was briefly disrupted by a shooting that took place nearby that left three people injured and one person deceased. Nipsey Hussle's team has released the following to XXL about the Marathon Burger grand-opening ceremony in Long Beach and the shooting incident. “The opening was a huge success with strong community support," the statement reads. "The incident being reported was NOT connected to our event and the event continued. The opening itself proceeded safely and without issue. The restaurant remains open and customers are still flowing in and out with excitement.” The grand opening followed another big posthumous event for Nipsey. On Feb. 28, the South Los Angeles intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue was named Nipsey Hussle Square in his honor.

Snoop Dogg has repeatedly described the 1996 Tupac-Nas encounter (around the MTV VMAs in New York, in Central Park or Bryant Park) as a tense moment he witnessed firsthand that nearly went sideways‼️ In his accounts, Pac saw Nas and confronted him about a diss track targeting Nas, Jay-Z, and Biggie‼️. Nas replied that he had no beef, loved Pac, and they shook hands or hugged‼️. Snoop claimed Nas “didn’t want none” but was deep—about 100 guys with guns circling them‼️while Pac remained oblivious‼️. Snoop said he spotted the threat (hands in pockets) due to his “gang-bang mentality.”‼️ Pac walked off thinking he’d punked Nas; Snoop saw it as Nas letting them slide because of the numbers‼️. Both sides handled it respectfully‼️. Nas has countered that Snoop got key details wrong‼️. Nas said he (not Pac) engaged amid high tension after the awards show, partly tied to a run-in involving his brother Jungle‼️. Rumors of Makaveli disses were circulating, and Nas wanted to check the temperature‼️. Their conversation was substantive: Pac thought Nas had dissed him on “The Message”; Nas clarified he hadn’t targeted Pac and had heard Pac was dissing him in clubs‼️. Pac said they were brothers who shouldn’t clash‼️. They planned to continue talking in Las Vegas, but Pac was shot before that happened‼️. Nas described a dangerous situation where greater heads prevailed and mutual respect won out‼️not one side being punked or purely scared‼️. Napoleon of the Outlawz, who was present and close to the exchange, further undercuts Snoop’s version‼️. Nas walked up with a small group (around half a dozen) while the Outlawz/Death Row side was deep (dozens, including New Jersey affiliates; Napoleon carried a .357 and said many on their side were strapped)‼️. Both sides were prepared and violence was a real risk, but Nas approached boldly‼️. The talk was mature and respectful‼️Pac indicated he would remove the diss verses about Nas after returning from Vegas (which never happened)‼️. They shook hands and hugged‼️. Napoleon has stated Snoop was not close enough to hear the conversation or be in the immediate circle; in some accounts he does not recall Snoop being there at all (or places him off to the side at best)‼️. Young Noble (also Outlawz and present) has said the same‼️: Nas walked up, their side outnumbered Nas’s group roughly 30–40 to a handful, the exchange was direct but resolved maturely (Pac sweating, Nas cool)‼️, and Snoop’s retelling is the wildest and most inaccurate‼️. Snoop did not arrive with Pac’s group and may have misread the larger contingent‼️. Snoop was in New York with the Death Row contingent for the VMAs, so he was in the broader orbit, but the accounts from Nas and the Outlawz place him outside the actual circle‼️. This is a clear case where Snoop’s narration did not fully check out‼️. He has told the story multiple times, centering his close observation and the “Nas was deep/scared but restrained” angle‼️, which Nas and those standing right there dispute on initiation, numbers, proximity, and tone‼️. Other instances where Snoop’s recollections have been corrected⁉️: On Drink Champs, Snoop claimed Nas originally had a verse on Tupac’s “Got My Mind Made Up” (All Eyez On Me) that was later removed‼️. Daz Dillinger, who produced the track, corrected him‼️: Nas was never on that song‼️. The original lineup was Daz, Kurupt, Method Man, Redman, Inspectah Deck, and Lady of Rage‼️. Snoop appears to have mixed it up with a different Dogg Pound-related track involving Nas‼️. Outlawz members have more broadly called out Snoop for revisionist storytelling around Tupac-era events, but the park meeting and the All Eyez On Me claim are among the clearest public corrections‼️💯.

“Party All the Time” began after comedy legend Richard Pryor made a $100,000 bet with Eddie Murphy, challenging him to record a serious music album with no jokes. Murphy teamed up with his friend Rick James, who wrote and produced the track. The two ended up snowed in together for about two weeks at James’s estate in Orchard Park as a result of the so-called “Six-Pack Blizzard,” a historic storm that dumped over 33 inches of snow on the region in 1985. The song far exceeded expectations and became one of the biggest crossover hits of 1985. The track is from Eddie Murphy's 1985 debut album, "How Could It Be." Written and produced by Rick James, the synth-funk anthem became an unexpected commercial success, reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 where it stayed for three weeks, kept off the top spot by Lionel Richie's "Say You, Say Me", and also charting internationally. Despite Murphy's fame as a comedian, the song proved he could also score a legitimate pop hit. Despite being widely remembered today as an '80s novelty, Murphy took the project seriously. He continued returning to music over the years, including reggae-influenced material more recently, such as the 2013 single "Red Light," featuring Snoop Dogg (then known as Snoop Lion).
