Snow at Red Rock and Mount Charleston. The Spring Mountains received a nice coating of the white stuff last night. If you are headed to Lee Canyon, pay attention to the roads and make sure your vehicle is 4WD/AWD or have tire chains.

Ever since you’ve moved into this neighborhood, the neighbor across the street seems to have a real issue with you. This winter every time you shovel your driveway, you come back later and you hear mountains of snow everywhere. You check your camera and you see that she intentionally pushes her snow across the street and dumps it into your yard and driveway. Not sure what the problem is nor do you really want to find out, would you let this slide or is it time to return the favor with your new snowblower?

In the snow-covered mountains, a group of horses became trapped after a severe spring snow storm buried the fields and cut off their access to food. With the roads blocked and no safe way to reach them by land, rescuers used a helicopter to fly over the frozen valley and drop bales of hay from above. One by one, the hungry horses moved through the snow toward the scattered food, finally getting the help they needed to survive.

Just another day for the beef cattle. They use their hooves to move the snow and graze the tall plants laid underneath. I will feed hay if the snow is deep or, as in this case, if it’s beneficial to the soil to have some left behind. Eat red meat and animal fat; buy the best you can.

Do one thing try this! 90% of Thar or sedan owners travelling to snow don’t even know the basics: what AT, MT, HT or winter tyres are; the difference between RWD and AWD; what a cold start is; how or where to fit snow chains; correct tyre pressure for snow; what low ratio is used for; what oversteering means; which direction to steer during a skid; what antifreeze does; how to use a jack; what traction actually is; or what differential lockers are. Now ask the same questions to a Hilux or Jimny owner you’ll get answers from 90% of them. That’s the difference between passion for cars versus buying a vehicle just for show-off. All others know only this: start the car, stop on the road, shoot a reel, block traffic, hit other vehicles, turn back, and later file an insurance claim. Vacation done! 👍🏻

Trick-or-Treating is not dead, just concentrated and organized. In our neighborhood, residents are advised to buy 1500 pieces of candy. That is usually not enough, so we end up closing early. The line in this video will last for two hours, and at a strict one piece per child, will consume our 30-lb stockpile. We are the White neighborhood surrounded by non-white neighborhoods. If you want this for your neighborhood, you must make a production of it. Ask the police to barricade the street, and announce it in the newspaper.

Well, today we had to rescue one of our own patrol vehicles after it decided the snow looked like a great parking spot. If a fully equipped sheriff’s vehicle can get stuck, your car can too. So do us (and yourselves) a favor: Stay home Stay warm Let the snow win today We promise the roads will still be there tomorrow. #SnowAndIce #LearnFromUS #StayOffTheRoads
