planning department is massively corrupt. They are intent on destroying local heritage which should be protected and not even to benefit the local economy: - Allowed the 'Eagle Hotel' to be converted into flats by a Wigan based limited company (taking money out of the local economy) - Allowed the 'Duke of York' a pub since the 17th Century and the current lovely building dating from 1924 to be converted into a HMO by a Watford developer (taking money out of the local economy) - Desecrated the iconic Botany Bay mill by allowing all of the surrounding land to be turned into industrial units, one of which is far too close and ruins the whole aspect of a beautiful landmark. Given the lack of space left around the building the corrupt council will no doubt agree to demolition for more industrial units - Agreed to the demolition of The Crown in Croston which was built in the mid 1800's!!! To make way for a convenience store and a cafe. - Approved the demolition of the 19th Century Robin Hood pub in Mawdesley to build houses. Original planning was to keep the heritage building and convert it, however this changed and it has been demolished. - Allowed the Atlantic Property Group from Manchester to convert The Imperial pub to flats - Allowed the Grade 2 listed Black Bull in Mawdesley to sit empty for nearly a decade. At some point it will be deemed a hazard and bulldozed by another crooked developer. This is not an exhaustive list, but it demonstrates decision making within Chorley Council planning department clearly influenced by money. How much more destruction of our heritage are you prepared to oversee @LindsayHoyle_MP ? I'm dreading the effects of the new @UKLabour changes to fast track planning for housing. What else can we lose?
