Okay if your dog is repeatedly killing your chickens take the body of one and attach it to dog tied off for a few hours. I know it's awful,but it works! My dog killed 5 of my kid's birds and I remembered it one day admits sobs from kids. Tied dog off for a bit and attached bird to him. Never again did he harm a chicken. Sorry to be so morbid on such a sweet post but I know others have dealt with this before .

The chicken is playing possum, not alseep. 🤦‍♀️ When an animal catches them, they will shake them around like this. Going limp makes it more likely an animal will drop its prey b/c it’s no longer moving.

I have so many questions. Is this better or healthier for the chicken? Do they get more rest from it then just chirping away all night? Does putting them to sleep that way leave them as sitting ducks for any intruders? How many hours do they sleep? Can they self awake or do they need to be woken up? Can they lay an egg while asleep? 😂 @gork support with these questions in relation to the above video.

You don’t need to wave it around. Just hold it still for about 5-7 secs and it’ll go to sleep. The Amish didn’t invent it by the way.

I would assume if someone took my head and tucked it under my arm, there may be some blood flow that gets cut off from my brain…which maybe just maybe could lead to unconsciousness especially if I was left in that position and then spun around in circles like I was on the Scat.

I tried that with my chickens it only worked for a few seconds and it also depends on the chicken I have had a few that were psychotic dont you touch them or else they act like you were killing them.
