You can make whatever cheap plastic bullshit you want, amazing!

So basically if I a 3D printer and a lot of time to burn I can make a lot of useless shite.

Yes.

turns your “what if” into “what now”.

Yes, but not without a healthy portion of frustration... 😂 (speaking from experience with SLA)

I was given the gift of a 3D printer and multiple rules of filament. I have never taken it out of the box nor do I understand how to use it.

All the cheap plastic useless junk we used to get from China, you can now make at home. The field has potential, but 99% is just nik naks that serve no purpose. No kid plays with these 'toys' for more than 5 seconds.

I’ve printed a few of those designs, the speed is a little deceiving, some can a day or more to print.

No, you can make a shitty plastic model of anything.

You wouldn’t download a car would you?

that's just a lot of garbage that will end up polluting more.

But can a 3D Printer make a 3D Printer?

Crazy! And they sell pretty cheap ones on Amazon too!

Before you bring a 3D printer into your home, think about your poor pets 🤭

Don't fall for all the scammers in the comments. Report them for spam/scam then block them. This isn't a Flashgore. That shitty chinese printer likely won't give you HQ prints like you see here. You can see from the label here it's clearly a Bambu Lab (@BambulabGlobal) printer.

Besides the coffee thing, the rest was just useless stuff

Looks nifty and a killer for Chinese junk we import 😂 It just got cheaper and at home.

Only problem is plastic is poison. We need better material.

Here you get. @grok draw a vintage style light bulb

@grok How much does a 3D printer cost?

Nothing useful though

A major misconception is people can only make toys with 3D printers. We use them printers to build 20% of small stuff we otherwise need to buy on Amazon. Saving tons of money

I'm sure there's a learning curve!

Get it here 🛒👇 @grok Please add a cat to the image above, sitting on the table

Having a printer, is a big reason to learn a drawing program. And of course putting some creative energy into building a table you put the printer on, is a way of encouraging your own creativity in printing (see pinned post).

Just what we need... more plastic to fill up the creeks, rivers and landfill.

Not really. A 3D printer can make a lot of shapes. But only if you have the right design file and material. It also can’t match strength or precision of every real product.

Don’t think about it, women.

Yep

Yes, you can make your balls full of microplastics...

You can, unless California decides to butt in, and they have.

Have you realized the 3d printer is extremely suitable for dna printing due to the particle based doting nature?

Yes, any plastic crap you can imagine

This is the Star Trek “Replicator” in its infancy. Future exo-terran colonies will rely on this in lieu of transport ships to “create” critical items. Transport ships/rockets will simply supply colonies with raw materials for 3D printers. “Plans” sent via comms do the rest.
