So dogs CAN understand what we say??

All animals are smarter than we give them credit for. They learn just like children do. I have a rabbit that knows commands. I didn't even teach him them. He just figured them out.

I had a German shepherd that would talk back just like this and pretty sure told me to fuck off more than once. Dogs are wonderful.

Some actually can! I had a royal standard poodle that was annoying me begging for treats while I was cleaning the kitchen. I said in frustration "God, just go up the stairs!" Well, she did just that and sat down at the top. It stunned me. I gave her a treat to reinforce the behaviour and used that command repeatedly. 🤣🤣🤣🥰🐶

My dog went out for a pee last night with her chewie toy in her mouth, came back in without it, so I said, "Where's your chewie?" and she went straight back out and got it.

dogs actually can understand over 100 words, a highly trained dog can learn up to 1k. Same with cats but up to 20-40. actually for cats the only thing stopping them from actually speaking is the one part of their brain since their voice boxes are similiar to a humans.

Most dogs know around 50 words, very intelligent ones around 250. They can be trained to know several thousand words, but they only understand complete sentences to a limited extent.

@RDPrice Yes they can absolutely understand what we say! I once had a dog that knew over 20 words. It got to a point that we had to start spelling them, and then backwards, to avoid commotion, like ball, which turned into llab. I still miss her so much😭
