So Ewing pretty much confirmed he doesn’t like Paul and that relationship is coming to an end. This just goes back to my point on how every writer and artist who works on asm or venom are forced to handle this status quo.

You wanna write asm? You have to include Paul, you wanna write venom? You have to include Paul, you wanna make an MJ variant cover? You have to include Paul. You’re not doing any good except fueling outrage and this is not even close to being a good strategy, it’s a shitty one.

I will say if Ewing gets rid of him permanently then good on him it’s a start, but does that fix everything? Nope. MJ is still terribly character assassinated and needs a full on retcon, Peter is pretty much a punching bag, Ben is still chasm, Janine is still hallow’s eve,

Despite editorial and writers trying to establish to readers that Paul isn’t a villain, there is no walking it back. He accidentally was responsible for killing his own world. That’s not a forgivable oops no matter how they try to frame it. Paul is also slimy. No salvaging that.

Also Ewing saying he’s not a “monster” when he was LITERALLY responsible for murdering billions of lives, doesn’t matter if his father caused it, he was still part of that cause. And all that “I’m so guilty of my actions” bs doesn’t help.
