The job he’s doing at Manchester United is starting to convince me more and more every week. At first, I thought Ruben Amorim’s approach was the right one, but football is about results, belief and the dressing room. Carrick has built something different. One thing Carrick has that every top manager needs is a genuine relationship with his players. I wasn’t that type of manager or captain I was demanding and ruthless but Carrick has a way of making every player around him feel confident and important. You can see it in the performances. Keeping him could prove to be one of the smartest decisions the club has made.
