I think I know the reason. When Google updates the frontend client with the new model selector menu, the routing layer points to the new weights, but the underlying system instruction passed by the backend team had not yet been updated from the Gemini 3.6 Flash identity string. Because an LLM strictly asserts whatever model name is hardcoded into its initialization prompt, every instance running behind that interface will confidently answer that it is Gemini 3.6 Flash.
