context: the vast majority of plate mail Knight fighting was to get the knight off balance with pushing attacks to the left or right shoulder, then once tired the knight can be easily knocked over, then you open the face shield and stab them in the face this was the main strategy along with going for gaps in armor like behind the knee or the arm pit. this is one major reason guns became popular, cause they can defeat knights/armor where swords and arrows could not.

Blunt force. Like a big hammer. Also when you're dealing with a raid-boss like this, you're supposed to literally turn your sword upside down and attack them with the handle. It's called mordhau.

At Agincourt French knights in plate armor charged dismounted or got bogged in mud after failed mounted attempts. They got piled up in front of the English line, exhausted, packed too close together, and unable to swing weapons effectively. English men-at-arms and longbowmen, out of arrows, switched to close combat They used mallets, hatchets, poleaxes, and daggers to knock knights down or stun them. Once down, they grappled limbs (pulling arms up/back, pinning their legs), exposing gaps, and stabbed with thin daggers through visor eye slits, armpits, or other openings. Another example is the Battle of the Golden spurs Probably a bunch more too

Archers. Special arrows designed to penetrate armor. A longbow or a crossbow appropriately loaded, deadly to a knight. There are also other weapons other than swords, that were used to great effect against armored opponents.

If the guy is inside a can, use a can opener. Step 1: get them on the ground. Step 2: stab through arm pits, visor, etc., bludgeon, or lever a point through a weak spot.

Let’s not forget, that there were not thousands of people wearing this type of armor. The vast majority had crude armor, some barely that. On a battle field, having more than a few knights is not that common. So swarming and as other said, getting them off of their horse and onto the ground is often a death kneel for a knight. But also those who could afford this type of armor were generally noblemen who were at the back of the charge and often mostly out of combats way. The armor was a good way to just prevent random charges and projectiles.

You know, only nobles can afford that kind of armored suits. Back then, they cost like a house. So, no... only knights from known houses can have this in battle. It's indeed protect the wearer but most infantry wear light leather armor with some chainmail to protect them. Rarely you'll find a full plated armor wrecking havoc in the middle of battlefield. Those who wore them were the ones commanding the army.
