According to Hanson, no one was more aggressive in silencing dissent than Tapper himself. “If anybody questioned the obvious mental decline of Joe Biden, his cognitive difficulties, Jake Tapper… tore them apart,” he recalled. One example stuck out. When Laura Trump commented as early as 2020 that Biden appeared to be in decline, Tapper dismissed her remarks by suggesting she was mocking a childhood stutter—an argument Hanson described as “absolutely ridiculous.”

September, 2023. Jake Tapper has on a writer from The Atlantic named Franklin Foer. Foer had just written a "behind the scenes" book about Joe Biden's presidency and his ability to do the job. The Atlantic writer claimed that Biden was still up for the job. Shocker, right? Frank Foer: Biden would pass a mental acuity test. Jake Tapper: "He's sharp physically, I mean mentally. I think the question is physically, right?" Frank Foer:....and it's all subjective... Jake Tapper: "And the guy who is his chief opponent is only three or four years younger than him anyway." This clip is their entire conversation about Biden's fitness. The Tapper quote about Biden being mentally sharp, just not physically, was used in a Grabien supercut. Today, Alex Thompson, Tapper's cowriter on his new book, claimed that it was deceptively edited to be taken out of context. It absolutely was not deceptively edited in any way at all. The entire clip shows that Tapper was arguing that Biden was mentally fit for office and to run for re-election, not that he was questioning Biden's faculties as they now claim. In 2023 Tapper was hawking this guy's book about Biden being up for the job. Now he's promoting his own book about the media's coverup of Biden not being up for the job. It's quite amazing.

This is a perfectly example of media bias. Thanks Jake. In 2018 Jamie Raskin was going on TV and calling for Trump to be removed from office via the 25th amendment. Raskin claimed that Trump was mentally unfit to be President. When Raskin brought his act to the Jake Tapper show, Tapper never freaked out on him or chastised him for diagnosing someone without medical degree. In fact in 2018 Tapper himself did numerous segments on Trump being mentally unfit for office. Tapper regularly asked the opinions of people who had no medical expertise in his efforts to paint Trump as unfit for office. Just two years later Tapper was indignant at that thought of someone without a medical degree daring to claim that Biden was in cognitive decline.
