Gary Oldman's "EVERYONE!!" scream in Léon: The Professional is so iconic people yell it at him in the street. Turns out it started as a joke between him and Luc Besson. He explains: “What's strange is that it's become this sort of iconic line, and it was all done as a joke. And that was the thing, I played the scene…. And I had a relationship with Luc. Luc Besson was kind of mad in a way — I mean, we were shooting on film. He would say to me, "OK, do the scene again, but now do it as Robert De Niro." Or do it as... And he would shoot it for kicks, and his archive. So we had a fun kind of relationship… I said to Luke, "I just want to do one more, let me do one more." This woman broke one of the rules of the Appalachian mountains. She forgot to close the blinds as it got dark in her home. When strange things started to happen she immediately grabbed her camera. What makes me impressed is how calm she is in this situation. I don’t think I would be this calm if I heard voices and whistling. I ask myself what would I do once I hear tapping on the window. To be honest I don’t know what I would do, this isn’t anything anyone should be used to. I know I am not a skeptic, I believe there are things I can’t explain. I believe there is more to this life than what we know, in the meantime we are the audience as life plays out. I think I would try to sleep until morning or just have some background noise so that I am not isolated only by the sounds of whatever is outside.
