That couple has been docking boats longer than you have been jerking off to anime.

That was perfect dock landing TF are you complaining abaut?

Nothing wrong with it. Actually quite well executed. Guessing you've never moored a boat.

Totally... I guess you didn't check my bio.

@MikeBryant288 lol nobody gives a shit

@MikeBryant288 Apparently enough for you to reply ๐คฃ

@MikeBryant288 Donโt you have more important aquatic activities to do?

@MikeBryant288 Wow. 2 replies... my goodness.

@MikeBryant288 For not giving a shit, you do seem to have a pile of it.

I wonder how many fights they got into over the years to finally get it this perfect. (If youโve got a boat and a wife, you know exactly what Iโm talking about). ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ

Same energy.

Honestly, looks like some pros out there. Other than the captain leaving the controls.

๐ซถA loving pair of old sailors. Clearly, this isn't their first time. Clean and confident maneuver.

It's not about the manoeuvre

Looks PERFECT to me!

Remind me not to sail with you

Long time boater here. This is genuis, especially as you get older.

Perfectly executed docking maneuver. If there are โso many thingsโ wrong, please make a list - weโd all love to see it.

The one thing I see wrong here is, there is another man on the boat, why tf u got the woman doing it

why? they have obviously done this before successfully

You guys are all pussies. The doesnโt want to trip on the bow rails. The man has black fenders on the boat. He glides in to give her time to step on to dock. The man has reverse and the current is pushing them AWAY from the dock. So this is just fine!

Never put anything alive between a small boat and a hard surface. Not hands, not feet. Captain should learn to park the boat if he is afraid a scratches and too cheap to buy proper fenders.

What is wrong? That was niceโฆ

The boating community is so catty and obnoxious.

Any docking you walk away from is a good docking.

any one criticizing this is just silly!!! gosh stay in bed with your pillows if you are so scared!! boating is fun and they made some minor mistakes but gosh they are out on the water with friends PRICELESS

I've seen way worse by people trying to follow the books to the letter but without adapting to the context... They are doing it slowly with a light boat and good weather, that's fine in that scenario with those people onboard

It's not about the manoeuvre

The thing that bother me the most are the lack of real shoes for the maneuver, that the best way to get hurt

The step will work just fine, i've seen it a lot of people doing that, it's more than strong enough

โSheโs done this a few timesโ?

@BartGonnissen I agree with the useless risks they took by not doing things properly, but with those conditions this seams reasonable to accept those risks. I wouldn't let teens do things the bad way like this, they are old enough to take their own responsabilities

Putting your leg between the gunwale and the dock is asking for trouble.

Explain what you mean by โSo many things wrong with thisโฆ..โ otherwise there So Many Things Wrong with your Post

Plus, step extending beyond fenders, so actually more risk in damaging your boat

Excellent answer

Thatโs smart as hell actually and perfect for a true boater

๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ

That is terribly unsafe. Anyone who knows boats knows.

That is an incredibly dangerous spot to stand while the boat is in motion.

They are using that lady as an old tyre beside the boat...

Other than no cleats on the โdockโ this was pretty seamless. I see a lot of people here have never been on a boat before.

Looks like a pretty smooth operator to me

It's not about the manoeuvre

Canโt even spell maneuver

That was as smooth as a gravy sandwich.

Captain stepping away from the controls and off of the boat with the engine running.

But it worked. Meanwhile everyone in the comments criticizing probably couldnโt drive a kayak safely

Looks reasonable to me! Maybe a bit too fast but not terrible.

Yeah. Stopping the boat with your leg is never advisable. Especially when itโs attached to an 80 year old hip

Seems right to me

Nope

That's a good way to crush a leg. Never put your body between the boat and the dock.

This is safer than her trying to get over the railing to tie off. Iโm teaching my family now about docking and piloting the boat. ๐
