You guys are all pussies. The doesn’t want to trip on the bow rails. The man has black fenders on the boat. He glides in to give her time to step on to dock. The man has reverse and the current is pushing them AWAY from the dock. So this is just fine!
Never put anything alive between a small boat and a hard surface. Not hands, not feet. Captain should learn to park the boat if he is afraid a scratches and too cheap to buy proper fenders.

any one criticizing this is just silly!!! gosh stay in bed with your pillows if you are so scared!! boating is fun and they made some minor mistakes but gosh they are out on the water with friends PRICELESS
I've seen way worse by people trying to follow the books to the letter but without adapting to the context... They are doing it slowly with a light boat and good weather, that's fine in that scenario with those people onboard

The step will work just fine, i've seen it a lot of people doing that, it's more than strong enough

Ze dondert toch echt bijna de plomp in tussen wal en schip, eerst als ze met een been op de step en de andere op de wal staat, en vervolgens als ze die lijn niet belegt en er vlak bij de rand op spanning laat komen. Het aantal onnodige risico’s in dit filmpje is hoog. De kans dat het een keer minder goed afloopt hopelijk met alleen schade aan dat plateautje ook. Het zou wat zijn, ze zouden gekooide wenteltrappen langszij moeten lassen voor de loodsen, no?
@BartGonnissen I agree with the useless risks they took by not doing things properly, but with those conditions this seams reasonable to accept those risks. I wouldn't let teens do things the bad way like this, they are old enough to take their own responsabilities
Putting your leg between the gunwale and the dock is asking for trouble.
Explain what you mean by “So many things wrong with this…..” otherwise there So Many Things Wrong with your Post
Plus, step extending beyond fenders, so actually more risk in damaging your boat

That's a good way to crush a leg. Never put your body between the boat and the dock.
This is safer than her trying to get over the railing to tie off. I’m teaching my family now about docking and piloting the boat. 😊
