Pardon me, what box ? Is it the grid you mean ? I use it for guidance, using the rule of 3rd. I tried to make my character head the focus, so I placed it on the intersecting point.

The blue one ? It's the grid I make based on the canvas size. I create a big box the size of the canvas, then make them smaller in width and height by 33%. If you are referring to the head and body, well, that's just how I sketch for the pose, really . .

I'm not even that good at drawing head, that's why I use reference from 3D model 😅 But the box is just for the reference where the head goes. As for the scale, I think it's just instinct or the feeling . . .😓

Hi! I would recommend doing master study. Just literally copy any artist/art you like, but no tracing. Try to mimic as close as possible. As for proportions, I learn a lot from this YouTube channel. Might be a good reference for breaking down anatomy

Hi, I would recommend do master study. Literally copy any art style you like. But no tracing! Do the color pick from the original art style and try to mimic it on your own art. it really help. I actually learn a lot from this video
