My thoughts exactly. Why would Russia want to babysit Europe? They have everything they need and plenty of room to expand. The only reason Russia would attack is because they feel they have no other choice.

After Communism collapsed the Russian empire, much of which had been growing since 1613 vanished along with its superpower status. Putin hates this and hated Gorbachev for allowing it. He wants the empire back, especially those states that provided a barrier to potentially hostile states. It really isn’t difficult to work it out and your post is either naïve or malicious.
