i thought when an entertainment joint,or hotel or psv or media house pays for mcsk licences (which isnt cheap btw ) that bit is already taken care of

Taxing entertainment joints to play music makes no sense in this day and age..They should be the ones getting paid as they act as discovery points for music..Hear The Music ->Shazam It -> Play it back on YouTube, Spotify etc, ->Artist earns.

Soon but first things first, we will be taxed to dance in entertainment joints... even nodding your head to good music might subject you to a 16% VAT.

A man who formed a whole committee to get a woman should not speak about extracting money from hardworking men.

Tourism Fund is already collecting 2% from restaurants and hotels. This can be shared equitably among all beneficiaries. Plus- MCSK-Kamp prisk still do. Something is wrong in how we're just pronouncing these revenues sources.

People always choose what to hear depending on who is speaking, what Ababu is proposing is that the owners of public commercial spaces playing music be charged via county license certain amount to be remitted to Music Copyright Right to be dispersed to Registered Kenyan musicians

Isn't there already a licence from MCSK for this? They now want to add another tax to it? Wacha we go eat and drink under trees.

So, who is going to get the money paid for the music? The Bluetooth company, the artists whose music are played or the speaker's company?
