So when does this collapse guys? People are actively not working because they don't want to pay off their debt. How long is this sustainable? 37 years old, no assets, just drifting through life.

Eventually we're going to have to bring back debtors prisons and indentured servitude or something. Or just abolish the idea of credit.

We've got to get the government out of guaranteeing these loans and put it back on the schools. That's the only solution, because who the hell would take a chance on unlimited BAs who will never make enough to pay back their loans, which will also gut the schools of all their ridiculous overstaffed departments debt like this pays for.

- Many university programs are credentialing scams that use social pressure to saddle young people with huge debts. - The government backs up the scam by disallowing bankruptcy and shielding the schools from liability. - Foreigners/nons are given massive preference in hiring and forgivable business loans. - Housing prices skyrocket, inflation siphons away savings. It's not admirable to drift through life, but I understand why people do it. I'm trying to start over for the third time and it's tough. Lots of reasons to just drop out and go live on a beach somewhere...

University debts in the USA are slavery. It's a ridiculous amount of money to owe for a university education that our parents' generation attended largely for free. Americans are indoctrinated to support corporate greed, which is a sin
