If it's autonomous, humans struggle with vehicles on four wheels, let alone airborne ones.

People can't drive cars but let's do flying cars. We've been hearing about this flying car stuff for decades. It's a joke...stop it already.

Pretty soon. Rumor has it that the plans to release them to the general public are sitting on Attorney General, Pam Bondi's desk ... right next to the Epstein client files.

propellors have some room to become quieter batteries have a lot of room to become more power dense avionics will get smarter -> yes these things will be viable for recreation or emergency services, but not mainstream until they are ultra safe and much quieter

Last I checked, those cost over $100,000. Cut the price by half, add AI flight assistance and safety guardrails, and they'll become more common.

The technology has been more than capable for years now. It’s safety, regulation and liability stuff that’s the problem. In rural areas, people have been flying their own ultra lights and small “kit planes” for decades.

Not until they get the power worked out. This is a toy with a 15 minute run time. The minimum reserve fuel time for a rotor craft is 20 minutes. Needs the range to go out and back somewhere distant on a single charge and still have 20 minutes left when you get home. The battery needs to last and have a way to check degradation to avoid unpleasant power failures.

How fast can it go, how far can it go, is it viable, can it go higher, is it safe, and how much does it cost to buy and keep? These are the questions that need to be asked before it is sold for all to buy.

Seriously, I don't want some drunk flying over my house in one or one that some kid decides to hot rod. How about the noise? No, not anytime soon.

I might be OK with it, with a pilots license and zero tolerance for shenanigans. Won’t be very many, not with operating costs, price to purchase, insurance, and licensure.

Flying is too efficient and effective. That also looks fun. We don't allow anything like that, now. Someone outlaw it, quick! Oh wait, they already did.

Batteries only last 45 min. I looked into these a while back because you can buy them right now. That was a turn off for me.

There is a high probability these will become commonplace until there's "an event" that regulates them out of existence.
