For us it was the one that says read all questions before answering. Last question says write your name and turn the paper in.

Another thing to watch for in Schools, and Business is called Delphi Technique. Where they will ask you to put a thought or opinion on a piece of paper collect them and then tell everyone the majority wanted to talk about --- Usually The School or Business Goal they want to push! That nobody put on the paper, giving the look it was Democratically brought up! Its bullshit!

I'm not sure this study indicates what they're saying it indicates. The group assumed to have "learned helplessness" may have been still trying to catch up on the first two words. They may have wasted time/effort trying to second-guess the task. Anything.

Psychology manipulation is everywhere. When a video game, like World of Warcraft, releases new content, that new content will most always be superior to what is in the game. So you get that psychological boost, that you're somehow "better" at the game.

Not sure about that. Because if i see one side of the room raising their hands while the other don't. I'll probably conclude within 1 second that, we don't have the same list and I'm stuck with the impossible list. And when she will ask me at the end what my thoughts are. I'll be left with a choice. "I learned that your a piece of shit, who's about to try to brainwash me with some garbage pseudo-science that means nothing." or I give her the benefit of the doubt and I go along and pretend that "I felt stupid" to see what kind of conclusion she's trying to reach. This tells us very little. Of course you do better if you have been successful. But when you fail, you need to learn to keep up your effort and not give out. Failures find a way to fail. So don't give in to the feeling of failure!

The experiment could be clean if they don't see other words and can't answer other questions rather than current only. But in this situation people will try to solve first 2, even when need to focus only on the last one. While other group can think on the next tasks after solving the current.
