Victor Davis Hanson: Beware, Elon Muskโ€™s โ€˜America Partyโ€™ Could Be Democrats' Path Back to Power Elon Musk announced this weekend heโ€™s launching a third party named the โ€œAmerica Partyโ€ following fierce criticism of President Donald Trumpโ€™s One Big, Beautiful Bill. But from the Bull Moose Party to Ross Perot, third-party efforts rarely succeed and often hand power to the Left. Will this be another spoiler moment that hurts Republicans in 2026 and 2028? Victor Davis Hanson breaks it down on today's episode of "Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words." โ€œ It's kind of an effort to hurt Donald Trump, both in the Congress and his successor in four years. But here's the question that I have for Elon Musk, and that is, does he really believe that he can pull this off? Apparently, he does. โ€œ I don't think in the next midterm election there's going to be American Party senators or representatives. However, they do, in some cases, affect elections. And for the most part, it's unpredictable. Nobody knows what the situation will be in 2028. But Elon Musk must know that it won't be a constructive role.โ€ ๐Ÿ‘‰ This episode is sponsored by the Pepperdine School of Public Policy. Victor Davis Hanson: Joe Biden Dismantled Basic Immigration Law. Now, Americans Are Suffering the Consequences California Gov. Gavin Newsom called the Trump administrationโ€™s efforts to enforce basic immigration law within his state โ€œrecklessโ€ and โ€œchaoticโ€, alleging that federal officials were trying to meet an โ€œarbitrary arrest quota.โ€ The Biden administration let in an estimated 12 million illegal aliens into the U.S. ICE would have to deport 8,000 illegal aliens a day to undo the damage done by the previous administration, which is not only unfeasible, but made more difficult by violent obscuration tactics employed by the Left in sanctuary cities, argues Victor Davis Hanson on todayโ€™s edition of โ€œVictor Davis Hanson: In His Own Wordsโ€ โ€œโ€ฆon a good day, Tom Homan and ICE and the Border Patrol can maybe deport, they find, 800. But Joe Biden let in 10 times that number per day. So, they would have to step up their efforts by a magnitude just to get back to where Joe Biden started. If you let in 12 million people in the space of four years, you're talking about 3 million a year. You're talking 250,000 per month. So, you can see it's 8,000 a day and there's no way that that seems even feasible, even when the Left tries to obstruct that effort with sanctuary cities and district judges who entertain these lawsuits to stop it.โ€ ๐Ÿ‘‰Donโ€™t miss out on Victorโ€™s latest videos by subscribing to The Daily Signal today. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅPI NETWORK NEWS: GCV โ€“ THE WARRIOR'S FLAME LEADING TO OPEN MAINNET! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ช On the journey of pioneering Pi Network, the resilient warriors of the GCV movement have been fighting tirelessly to build a strong ecosystem. GCV (Global Consensus Value) is not just a number; it is a declaration, a vision, and a mission โ€“ to create a truly decentralized economy for Pioneers! ๐Ÿš€ THE SKEPTICS โ€“ BECAUSE THEY DONโ€™T UNDERSTAND! There are those who deny GCV, attack the movement, and claim that this value is an illusion. They fail to realize that GCV is not just a random figure but a crucial stepping stone for Pi to achieve OPEN MAINNET (OM) successfully! โšก THE REALITY OF GCV โ€“ WHY DO WE BELIEVE? 1๏ธโƒฃ GCV helps establish Piโ€™s foundational value: Without GCV, who will determine Piโ€™s worth? Centralized exchanges, where prices can be manipulated by whales? No! The true value of Pi must be decided by the Pioneer community. 2๏ธโƒฃ History has proven it: Bitcoin was once considered worthless, but early adopters held onto it, traded it, and built trust around it. Pi is on the same path, and GCV is the tool that empowers Pioneers to shape its value. 3๏ธโƒฃ GCV is the key factor that enables Pi Network to reach Open Mainnet: An economy cannot function without a consensus value for transactions. GCV serves as the "framework" that helps Pi Networkโ€™s ecosystem grow strong before its global expansion. ๐Ÿ”ฅ GCV WARRIORS โ€“ HOLD ON TO YOUR BELIEF! Skeptics may laugh, but they are not the ones who will decide Piโ€™s future. We โ€“ the pioneers of GCV โ€“ are the ones writing history! Remember this: ๐Ÿ’Ž Pi is not just a token to be bought and sold meaninglessly. ๐Ÿ’Ž Pi is not a speculative tool for centralized exchanges. ๐Ÿ’Ž Pi is our asset, and GCV is the bridge to valuing it properly! ๐Ÿ’ช GCV WARRIORS โ€“ KEEP FIGHTING! Do not let doubt shake your belief. The GCV ecosystem is growing, transactions with GCV are happening, and we are building a real economy. Stay strong, keep trading, keep spreading awareness, and prove to the world that GCV is not just a dream โ€“ it is the FUTURE OF PI NETWORK! ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ”ฅ JoJo๐Ÿ’ซ ------------------------------------- Spirit of the GCV Warriors Verse 1 Morning light, brings hope anew, GCV warriors, strong and true. ๐ŸŽฌ $dTAO Creates The Perfect AI Market EXPLAINED ๐ŸŒŠ Curious about the upcoming Bittensor and $TAO changes? Let's dig into it in this Video. The Core of it ๐ŸŽฏ What Changed: โ€ข $TAO emission tied to activity โ€ข 7,200 blocks per day โ€ข No inflation when demand high โ€ข PERFECT BALANCE! Think of it like a smart thermostat: - Too hot? Emissions stop - Too cold? Chain buys - Just right? Natural growth Before, $TAO was emitted at a fixed rate, no matter what. Whether people were staking or not, $TAO was just spilling out. It was kind of like leaving the faucet running all day. Sure, it worked, but it wasnโ€™t efficient or sustainable. Now? Itโ€™s different. $TAO emissions are tied to actual demand. Picture a thermostat: If the marketโ€™s overheated (lots of $TAO being staked), emissions stop. Why print more $TAO if everyoneโ€™s already piling in? If things cool down (not enough $TAO being staked), the chain โ€œbuys backโ€ to keep everything balanced. And when itโ€™s just right? The system runs naturally, letting markets do their thing. Itโ€™s a self-regulating system. No oneโ€™s forcing anything. Itโ€™s pure market dynamics Market ๐Ÿ”ฅ Previous System: - Fixed emissions - Manual controls - Price limitations - ARTIFICIAL LIMITS! New Reality: โ€ข Market controls flow โ€ข Natural price discovery โ€ข Organic growth โ€ข PURE ECONOMICS! The old system was like having a boss micro-managing everything kind of like manual controls, price caps, artificial rules. It worked but felt clunky. Now, the market decides: $TAO flows when itโ€™s needed, not when itโ€™s not. Prices? Found naturally, based on real supply and demand. Growth? Pure and organic. This isnโ€™t just a minor upgrade, itโ€™s a complete shift. No more training wheels. This is the economy running on its own. The Number Game ๐Ÿ“Š Key Metrics: - 7,200 blocks daily - $1B subnet value(based on year and current prices) - 300 days no inflation - REAL DEMAND! When demand > 7,200 $TAO daily: โ€ข Emissions pause โ€ข Value increases โ€ข Scarcity grows โ€ข NATURAL PRESSURE! Hereโ€™s how it works, practically speaking: 7,200 blocks/day: Thatโ€™s how often the chain checks whatโ€™s happening. No inflation when more than 7,200 $TAO is staked daily. $1B market cap? That could mean no $TAO emissions for almost a year. Think about it: If demand for $TAO stays high, the system stops flooding the market with new tokens. Instead, it tightens the supply, making $TAO scarcer and more valuable. Less supply = more pressure = higher prices. Growth Engine ๐Ÿš€ This Creates: 1. Perfect Staking: - Stake more = Less inflation - More value = More growth - More utility = Higher demand 2. Perfect Balance: โ€ข Market sets prices โ€ข Activity drives value โ€ข Growth controls supply This isnโ€™t just about numbersโ€”itโ€™s about balance. dTAO makes everything self-correcting. Too much demand? TAO emissions pause, creating scarcity. Too little demand? The system buys back TAO to stabilize things. Itโ€™s like nature. Balance happens automatically, and the system adapts without anyone interfering. The AI Evolution ๐Ÿง  For Subnets: - Unlimited growth potential - Natural selection - Value-based competition - PURE INNOVATION! For AI Agents: โ€ข Build freely โ€ข Compete naturally โ€ข Evolve constantly โ€ข INFINITE POTENTIAL! Now letโ€™s zoom out. This isnโ€™t just about TAO prices going up or downโ€”itโ€™s about AI evolution: Subnets (specialized networks) can now grow without limits. AI agents (the brains running these networks) compete freely, innovate faster, and constantly improve. Itโ€™s survival of the fittest, but in the digital world. The best subnets win, the most useful AI agents thrive, and everyone benefits from the results. No bottlenecks, no gatekeeping, just pure growth. ๐ŸŽฌ Watch Now: YouTube TikTok:

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ MAL REVEALS MAJOR INFO ON J. COLE & DRAKE FALLOUT ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ”ฅ (Rory & Mal Podcast) Mal just dropped a bombshell about the post battle aftermath and it raises more questions than answers. ๐Ÿšจ THE BIG REVEAL According to Mal: โ€ขJ. Cole has not spoken to Drake since early 2024 โ€ขThis happened right after Cole backed out of the battle โ€ขThis was immediately following a full tour together ๐Ÿ‘‰ Despite years of public unity, the relationship allegedly went radio silent. ๐Ÿค” WHY THIS FEELS STRANGE โ€ขCole and Drake had just toured together โ€ขDrake helped Cole secure his first #1 song โ€ขMillions were made on that tour โ€ขThenโ€ฆ no communication ever again Mal called the move โ€œnastyโ€ and says Cole owes fans and Drake an explanation in bars ๐ŸŽต THE APOLOGY THAT RAISED EYEBROWS โ€ขCole released a song 5 months after the Drake vs. Kendrick / industry battle โ€ขIn the song, he apologizes to Drake โ€ขBut if they havenโ€™t spoken since early 2024โ€ฆ โ“Was the apology genuine or just for optics? ๐Ÿง  THE โ€œBARZINI MEETINGโ€ THEORY This brings back a theory I raised during the battle itself ๐Ÿ‘€ ๐ŸŽฌ WHAT IS THE BARZINI MEETING? From The Godfather: โ€ขBarzini uses a trusted insider (Tessio) to request a โ€œpeace meetingโ€ โ€ขThe meeting is actually a setup to assassinate Michael Corleone โ€ขFamous line: โ€œWhoever comes to you with this Barzini meetingโ€ฆ heโ€™s the traitor.โ€ ๐ŸŽค WHY THIS MATTERS IN HIP-HOP Jay Z once warned Drake directly: โ€œDrake, here's how they gon' come at you With silly rap feuds, tryin' to distract you In disguise, in the form of a favor The Barzini meeting, watch for the traitors, uhh I done seen it all, done it all That's why none of these dum-dums could done him offโ€ฆโ€ ๐Ÿ’ญ The question now being asked: โ€ขDid Cole unknowingly (or knowingly) line Drake up to jump into the battle? โ€ขWas the Kendrick conversation the โ€œmeetingโ€? โ€ขDid something get said on that call that permanently severed the relationship? ๐Ÿ•ต๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ THE UNANSWERED QUESTIONS โ€ขWho leaked the original โ€œPush Upsโ€ diss? โ€ขWhat exactly was said in the Cole x Kendrick conversation? โ€ขWhy did Cole never speak to Drake again? โ€ขWere they friendsโ€ฆ or just business partners? Even Mal admits: โ€œThis is not common knowledge. Fans did not know this.โ€ ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ MALโ€™S CORE DEMAND โ€ขCole doesnโ€™t need interviews โ€ขHe doesnโ€™t need podcasts โ€ขHe doesnโ€™t need press runs ๐ŸŽถ Put it in the bars. Explain: โ€ขWhy you backed out โ€ขWhy you spoke to Kendrick โ€ขWhy Drake never heard from you again ๐Ÿ“Œ BOTTOM LINE โ€ขPublic unity โž private silence โ€ขApology without reconciliation โ€ขA theory once dismissed now feelsโ€ฆ possible โ€ขThe battle may be over, but the story isnโ€™t finished ๐Ÿ‘€ Who do you think really set the pieces in motion?

๐Ÿค–๐Ÿ”ฌ Can AI actually do science end-to-end? ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ“ˆ And how would we know when it matches, or surpasses, humans? โšก๐Ÿงช AI is rapidly automating scientific discovery, but benchmarking full-cycle discovery, from ๐Ÿ’ก ideation โ†’ ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป execution โ†’ ๐Ÿ“Š conclusions, remains unsolved: ๐Ÿง๐Ÿง๐Ÿง โŒ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Open-ended discovery โ†’ manual validation (costly, unscalable) โŒ๐Ÿ“ Metric-driven benchmarks (e.g., MLE-Bench) โ†’ convenient but narrow (is higher accuracy really enough?) โŒ๐Ÿค–โš–๏ธ LLM-as-judge โ†’ useful, but fundamentally risky if used alone ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš€ Introducing FIRE-Bench๐Ÿ”ฅ: Fullcycle Insight Rediscovery Evaluation ๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸŒ ๐Ÿ“šโœจ A benchmark that turns fresh, human-verified insights from recent ๐Ÿ† NeurIPS / ICLR / ICML papers into masked, end-to-end discovery challenges ๐Ÿงฉ ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ” Constrained open-ended discoveryโ€“backed by ground truth. ๐Ÿ“Œ Key takeaways: 1โƒฃ ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿงฑ Reference-based evaluation still matters: constrained LLM judging helps, but human-grounded references remain essential until agents can consistently match human conclusions 2โƒฃ ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿง  Expert-validated ground truth: all tasks come from recent NeurIPS / ICLR / ICML papers, with contamination carefully controlled 3โƒฃ ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŽญ Rediscovery, not reproduction: original ๐Ÿงช methods, ๐Ÿ“Š experiments, ๐Ÿ’ป implementations, and ๐Ÿ“ˆ analyses are fully masked to create real discovery challenges ๐Ÿ”‘ Key empirical findings: ๐Ÿ’ก The "Science Gap" is Real: Even the best setup (Claude Code + Sonnet-4) caps out at an F1 score of 46.7. On March 15th, 2021, an anonymous Twitter user asked Harvard Medical professor Martin Kulldorff a question. โ€œDo you think younger age groups and or people who have already had the virus need to be vaccinated?โ€ Who is Martin Kulldorff? Heโ€™s a Harvard Medical School professor for 21 years, a well-known Swedish biostatistician who developed widely used software for disease mapping, the co-author of the Great Barrington Declaration on how to deal with the COVID pandemic, and an advisor to the worldโ€™s leading health organizations. What he said was that โ€œThinking that everyone must be vaccinated is as scientifically flawed as thinking that nobody should get COVID. Vaccines are important for older high-risk people and their caretakers. Those with prior natural infection do not need it, nor do children.โ€ Natural immunity. Is it a myth โ€” a โ€œconspiracy theoryโ€ โ€” that once you have been sick from a virus, then you wonโ€™t get sick, or as sick, again? In fact, weโ€™ve known for 2,500 years that natural immunity is real. โ€œThe same man was never attacked twice, never at least fatally,โ€ wrote Thucydides, describing the plague of Athens. He observed that recovered individuals could safely nurse the sick without falling ill themselves. And yet Twitter censored Martin Kulldorffโ€™s tweet. โ€œLearn why health officials recommend a vaccine,โ€ read a warning that Twitter employees put on it. For most people, the Tweet cannot be replied to, shared or liked. In other words, Twitter had decided that this professor at Harvard Medical School was wrong, and that natural immunity wasnโ€™t really something that could protect you from COVID. Jay Bhattacharya, whoโ€™s currently our Director of the National Institutes of Health, and thus one of the highest-ranking public health officials in the world, was a Stanford epidemiologist before that. Twitter put him on a โ€œTrends Blacklist.โ€ Not long before we discovered this, we were told that shadow-banning was a conspiracy theory, because Twitter had said it didnโ€™t shadow-ban. Now the European Commission is trying to censor the entire global internet. They want to put a 140 million Euro fine on X. They want to end anonymity, which was what allowed that question of Kulldorff to be asked. They want to use a โ€œDemocracy Shieldโ€ program to shield the Commission from democracy. And the Commission wants to impose โ€œchat controlโ€ so they can read your private messages. It just gets worse and worse. Unsubstantiated and likely false claims of Russian government election interference through TikTok and social media were made in Romania and in the Czech Republic. Truth is not something that anybody holds as a possession and rather emerges through dialogue. Weโ€™ve known that since Plato and Socrates. We need free speech for science, public health, and national security. Itโ€™s essential to journalism, democracy, and human freedom. Free speech enabled civilization; censorship threatens it. This is the only political cause that I would die for. And yet there is currently an active coordination between Stanford, Brazil, Australia, and others to impose what I think we can call, without exaggeration, global totalitarianism. Theyโ€™re pushing for digital identification that will end anonymity online. Why is that? Why are these guys behaving in this way? When Elon Musk took over Twitter on October 28th, 2022, unprecedented insight into multiple secret government mass censorship efforts emerged from this exploration. We had unlimited access to Twitter files. They revealed that the mainstream news reporters, who donโ€™t deserve the name, were demanding censorship. No true journalist demands censorship of his fellow journalists. What emerged from this was an understanding of something we call the โ€œCensorship Industrial Complex,โ€ which directly grew out of the military industrial complex and was run by active or former intelligence community officials who often operate under that banner. It led to multiple congressional investigations and hearings, and it spread across every social media platform. So we now know the censorship that occurred, not just at Twitter, but at YouTube, at Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms. What is the Censorship Industrial Complex? The model isnโ€™t that complicated to understand. The government chooses people whom they call โ€œresearchersโ€ to serve as censors. These are government-funded individuals who often come from the intelligence community and foreign policy establishment. They work at non-governmental organizations funded by governments or at universities funded by governments. They conduct โ€œfact checksโ€ to serve as โ€œtrusted flaggers.โ€ These โ€œtrusted flaggersโ€ demand censorship by social media platforms. Itโ€™s all done in secret. Theyโ€™re looking to censor narratives. This is essential because, as decades of good cognitive science have shown, people understand and retain information through storytelling. We think in terms of stories, not bullet points. And so they were out to censor whole narratives. From the Stanford censorship project on COVID, the โ€œVirality Project,โ€ they said they wanted to censor โ€œtrue storiesโ€ of vaccine side effects. Why? Because it might โ€œfuel hesitancy.โ€ In other words, they want to control your behavior. They donโ€™t want you to receive true information that might lead you to not get the vaccine. If that isnโ€™t totalitarianism straight out of 1984, I donโ€™t know what it. These people were on the verge of passing legislation in the United States that wouldโ€™ve authorized the National Science Foundation to choose these โ€œresearcherโ€ censors. Iโ€™m presenting slides to Europeans and the world for situational awareness into what totalitarian politicians and bureaucrats have planned because this is still going strong. Stanford helped the US government censor COVID dissidents, and then they lied about it. You might be detecting a pattern. Theyโ€™re really not interested in censoring โ€œmisinformation.โ€™ Theyโ€™re very interested in censoring true information. The censors flagged an Israeli preprint which came out in December, 2020 and found, lo and behold, that natural immunity is a real thing. In fact, itโ€™s more protective than the vaccine. But the censors flagged somebodyโ€™s Google Drive. โ€œSee the following Google Drive links being used to compile testimonies about vaccine shedding, Covid videos, showing side effects and whatnot.โ€ Google then removed that content from that personโ€™s Google Drive. You donโ€™t control your Google Drive. Contrary to Stanfordโ€™s claim that the project did not ask social media platforms to remove any content, they privately said they did. And we know that many hundreds of thousands of tweets and Facebook posts were removed, even though they were a hundred percent accurate. In fact, in 2021, Stanfordโ€™s โ€œVirality Projectโ€ flagged accurate claims that the World Health Organization did not recommend vaccinating children. The people who spread the misinformation are the people demanding the censorship. They claimed Covid couldnโ€™t have come from a lab, that the Covid vaccine prevented infection, and that natural immunity didnโ€™t exist. The only solution to hate speech and misinformation is free speech. If you censor false information, how would anybody get the true information? The whole point is the debate. They lied when they said false information travels faster than true information. Itโ€™s a completely bogus study and involved six seconds of content on Twitter. Who are these people? As of 2020, there were so many former FBI employees at Twitter that they called them โ€œBu alumni.โ€ They created their own private Slack channel and a crib sheet to onboard new FBI arrivals. Intriguingly, we discovered that the general counsel of the FBI โ€” arguably the second most powerful person of the FBI, or maybe the first, if you think, consider that what their actual job is to decide what the FBI can and canโ€™t do โ€” resigned from FBI in early 2020 and went to Twitter to take the deputy general counsel role. Isnโ€™t that interesting? Somebody in one of the most powerful legal positions in the world would take a junior legal role at a social media company. Why would that be? This email popped up when we were going through Twitter files and it really jumped out at us. Itโ€™s from the director of policy at Twitter. โ€œWe have seen a sustained if uncoordinatedโ€ โ€” supposedly โ€” โ€œeffort by the intelligence community to push us to share more information and change our API policies. Theyโ€™re probing and pushing everywhere they can.โ€ The Hunter Biden laptop censorship occurred later that year. The FBI and the intelligence community discredited accurate, factual information about Hunter Bidenโ€™s foreign business dealings both before and after the New York Post revealed the contents of his laptop on October 14th, 2020. How could the FBI spread false information about something that nobody knew about? Because the FBI had Hunter Bidenโ€™s laptop, which showed his familyโ€™s massive influence peddling scheme. It consisted of accepting tens of millions of dollars, including from the Chinese government. The FBI had been sitting on that laptop since December of 2019. They had been given it by the computer repair store owner, who had been given the laptop by Hunter Biden, likely because he dropped it in his bathtub or in the pool, when he was on one of his many crack and alcohol benders. The government strategy is always the same: spread disinformation first, then demand censorship of accurate information on the basis of it . โ€œThe FBI came to us in the summer of 2020,โ€ Mark Zuckerberg told Joe Rogan two years later, โ€œand they were like, โ€˜Hey, you should be on the alert. We thought that there was a lot of Russian propaganda in 2016. Thereโ€™s about to be some kind of dump.โ€™โ€ In the summer of 2020, the New York Post had not published the story about the Hunter Biden laptop. It would only come out in October. We see something very interesting show up in the Twitter files: the Aspen Institute, an intermediary between the intelligence community and the public. Itโ€™s known as a Davos-style gab fest in the United States. Itโ€™s also the place where intelligence community operations are run. They hosted a workshop to train reporters and all of the social mediaโ€™s top censorship officials, known as โ€œtrust and safety officials,โ€ how to deal with a story they would hear in the future relating to Hunter Biden and Barisma. A few months earlier, the Stanford Cyber Policy Center had published a report attacking what we in the United States call the Pentagon Papers Principle. The Pentagon Papers Principle says that if a government official gives me, a journalist, a bunch of Pentagon documents showing that weโ€™re losing the war in Vietnam, I, as a journalist, can publish them, and not risk prison. That was decided in a famous Supreme Court case in 1971. Stanford argued that, really, we should get rid of that principle, which may be the most important investigative journalism principle in the United States, and said, โ€œYou should cover the person who leaked the materials, not the leaked emails.โ€ In other words, you should cover and expose the whistleblower. The person who exposed the Pentagon Papers is the real bad guy, not the DOD, CIA, and presidents who had lied to us for over a decade. Stanford was training the journalists and the social media trust and safety officers in how to cover a story that had not yet come out. This is known as โ€œpre-bunking,โ€ and itโ€™s also part of the European Union strategy to shield themselves from democracy. When the Hunter Biden story appeared October 22nd, Twitterโ€™s trust and safety censorship official said it didnโ€™t violate its terms of service. Thereโ€™s nothing illegal about any of this. The Supreme Court has made it very clear that youโ€™re allowed to report on information thatโ€™s been leaked to you. At that moment, the former FBI general counsel, Jim Baker, argued vigorously that Twitter really needed to censor it. Baker won and they censored the story. Itโ€™s not that we didnโ€™t hear about the Hunter Biden laptop story when it came out. I certainly did. But we had the impression that there was something wrong with it, that it was not really the whole story. And so many of us dismissed it. What they had done was a psyop on this major story. They had changed our perception of the story. And it worked. It worked on me, it worked on everybody I knew. What is the role of the intelligence community of social media companies? The former CIA people are the head of elections at Meta, and Googleโ€™s head of trust and safety. Former and current CIA officers have a history of spreading misinformation and promoting the Russiagate conspiracy theory. We now know that between 2018 and 2023, there were 36 people from the CIA 68 from the FBI 44, from the National Security Administration and 68 from the Department of Homeland Security who had moved to work at the social media platforms. This is not unique to the United States. My colleague Cecilia Jilkovรก, the daughter of famous Czech dissidents, discovered that European Union officials claimed, days before the European elections in 2024, that a โ€œpro-Kremlin websiteโ€ was spreading propaganda and were paying off European politicians. That was the headline in Politico. We wrote to them and asked, โ€œWhereโ€™s the evidence of this? Just go ahead and share the evidence to support your accusation days before the European parliamentary elections.โ€ Nobody was arrested. They never produced the evidence. The former Czech president, Vรกclav Klaus, who was accused of this, said, โ€œWe donโ€™t even know what the โ€˜Voice of Europeโ€™ is.โ€ Another Czech politician said, โ€œHow could I have known it would be a security threat? At the time I gave the interview, they werenโ€™t on any list.โ€ Another said, โ€œIf theyโ€™re such a big threat, why did the European Parliament let the Voice of Europeโ€™s journalists inside?โ€ Nobody responded. Nobody talked to us. This was a disinformation campaign carried by Politico, which, in my view, is a suspect publication. In the spring of 2022, Barack Obama went to Stanford to give a speech at the Stanford Cyber Policy Center run by Michael McFaul, his former ambassador to Russia. Obama said misinformation harms democracy and urged support for legislation in Congress that would empower government-appointed researchers to serve as โ€œtrusted flaggers.โ€ Six days later, the Department of Homeland Security rolled out their Disinformation Governance Board. What a coincidence that they got Obama to frame the issue for them. Facebook in 2021 censored accurate vaccine information so the White House would help it to get data from Europe. In addition to removing vaccine misinformation, wrote Facebook to the White House, we have been focused on reducing the virality of content discouraging vaccines that does not contain actionable misinformation. White House said jump, and Facebook said how high? Why did they do it? Why would they voluntarily censor? This also emerged from the Facebook files. Nick Clegg on the left wrote an email to his colleagues. He said, โ€œMy sense is that given weโ€™ve got bigger fish, we have to fry with the administration, e.g., data flows, it doesnโ€™t seem like a great place for us to be.โ€ Data flows. Whatโ€™s he talking about? Heโ€™s talking about billions of dollars worth of business that he has to, that they would have to pay the European Commission for if they didnโ€™t have the support from the Biden administration to lean on the European Commission. In other words, this was a shakedown by the White House of Facebook and it worked in France, the country of Libertรฉ. Turns out it has a special role.... I Cracked Polymarket Using Claude Opus 4.6: The 96,000 Dollar Script For 5 Minute High Leverage Windows most traders are currently sitting at their desks fighting a losing battle against a digital wall because they do not realize the house always wins against human emotion. while the crowd is busy chasing the next meme coin or getting washed out in a single wick an automated agent just pulled nearly a hundred thousand dollars out of thin air using nothing but raw logic. i have seen people blow their life savings in these five minute windows because they treated a high leverage prediction market like a playground instead of a laboratory i am moon dev and i believe that code is the great equalizer because through losing money with liquidations and over trading i knew i had to automate my trading. in the past i spent hundreds of thousands on devs for apps thinking i would not be able to code myself which was a massive waste of my time and resources. with bots you must iterate to success so i decided to learn live on youtube and now we are here with fully automated systems trading for me instead of getting liquidated by the market the five minute markets on polymarket are essentially a high speed game of musical chairs where the person left standing is usually the one with the fastest script. leverage makes these markets extremely dangerous because it amplifies every mistake you make until your account is completely empty. the only way to survive this environment is to stop trading based on a gut feeling and start trading based on a stress tested mathematical edge the real breakthrough happened when i started using claude opus four point six to write the execution code for these specific five minute windows. having an ai agent that can analyze microstructure data means you can find trends that are completely invisible to the naked eye. it is essentially like having a team of twenty engineers working for you around the clock without the communication lag or the massive overhead costs some of our back tests show a sixty four percent win rate which sounds like a dream to anyone who has ever spent a night staring at a red screen. however the return on these tests varies wildly based on a few specific changes to the strategy parameters and histogram filters. i found that a return of forty one thousand dollars can jump to nearly double that just by adjusting how the bot handles the macd histogram threshold the trap that most people fall into is thinking that a good back test is a license to print money immediately without any further validation. this is a dangerous lie that leads to huge losses because the market in the past is not a perfect mirror of what is going to happen today. that is why i never launch a bot with full size until it has survived the incubation phase where it trades with ten dollars at a time incubation is the ultimate reality check for any trading strategy regardless of how good the numbers look on a computer screen. it is nerve wracking to watch a bot enter its first real trade even if the size is small because that is the moment theory meets reality. most of the bots that pass a back test will fail during the first forty eight hours of incubation and that is exactly why this step is non negotiable the data i use to build these systems covers over two hundred weeks of historical one minute candles to ensure the results are robust and not just luck. we are currently moving toward a machine learning approach where the system can adapt to changing market conditions without me having to intervene. this means the bot will eventually be able to recognize when a high leverage window is too risky and simply wait for a better entry the strategy itself relies heavily on macd variations which is a well known indicator but it is used here with a very specific and proprietary twist. by filtering for trades that hit a specific threshold we can ignore the random price noise that usually liquidates manual traders. we look for an edge of at least six percent which is enough to cover all platform fees and still leave a significant profit on the table i used to think that being a successful trader meant being a genius who could predict the future with a magical crystal ball. the truth is far more boring because success is just about researching an idea and testing it until the data proves it works in the past. then you just let the bot do the work while you go live your life instead of being a slave to the candle sticks and charts this world is changing fast and the people who learn to leverage ai to automate their thinking are going to be the ones who win the next decade. i am not asking you to trust a back test or a screenshot from a website because i want you to trust the process of testing it yourself. code allows you to take your life back from the screens and finally stop the cycle of over trading and emotional liquidations the difference between the traders who make it and the people who blow up is simply the willingness to iterate on their ideas daily. you might fail on your first ten bots but the eleventh one might be the script that changes your entire financial trajectory forever. it is about staying in the game long enough for the math to finally work in your favor and removing the human heart from the execution every day i am back testing and researching new ideas to see if they can survive the stress of real market data. i launch these live bots and let them run for seventy two hours to see if they can handle the pressure of the current market trend. while everyone else is coping and complaining about market volatility we are just adjusting our parameters and letting the ai find the next profitable window vibe coding with claude opus four point six has changed the speed at which i can deploy a new strategy from weeks down to just a few minutes. you can give the ai a general strategy idea and it builds the entire trading infrastructure for you while you focus on the logic. this speed is the ultimate advantage in a market that moves as fast as a five minute prediction window on the blockchain the future of trading is not found in a chat room or a paid signal group but in the code you write and the data you process. i believe that everyone has the ability to become an automated trader if they are willing to put in the work to learn the scripts. it is the only way to escape the trap of the nine to five and the anxiety of manual hand trading in a manipulated market i want you to understand that the ninety six thousand dollar returns i see are the result of hundreds of failed tests that never saw the light of day. you have to be willing to look at a failing bot and kill it without emotion so you can move on to the next research project. that is the quantitative mindset that separates the winners from the people who are just gambling with their savings if you are ready to stop being the liquidity for the big players then it is time to start building your own automated army of bots. for the cost of a few cups of coffee you can get access to the road map and the scripts that are driving these results. i am here every day showing you the process because i want to see more people use code to find their financial freedom and beat the house at its own game

Appleโ€™s iPad โ€œCrushโ€ Ad Is Bleak, Ominous and Threatening I donโ€™t know if youโ€™ve seen Appleโ€™s just-released commercial for the โ€œNewโ€ iPad Pro, but itโ€™s pretty awful. It is dark, humorless, and feels like a not-so-thinly veiled threat to writers, musicians, game makers, developers, and artists of all kinds. โ€ฆand children, even. Iโ€™ve watched it at least five times today alone, and Iโ€™m left with one big question. โ€œWho on earth approved this?โ€ Itโ€™s absolutely baffling that the worldโ€™s largest technology company, with the worldโ€™s biggest marketing budget, thought this would be a good idea. What kind of idiotโ€”or idiots, since dozens or hundreds of people had to be involved in the writing, staging, producing, recording, and editingโ€”felt this kind of ad would somehow create a positive emotional connection with consumers? Seriously, itโ€™s terrifying. In a dank, cold warehouse, devoid of all life and humanity, an industrial crusher comes to life, and slowly starts destroying a collection of musical, philosophical, and artistic devices and instruments. For no apparent reason, everything starts getting smashed: first, a trumpet, then an arcade video game, then cans of paint, a piano, a globe, a metronome, a guitarโ€ฆ on and on it goes, obliterating everything in sight into a colorful, gooey, explosive mess. Books, camera lenses, lamps, a guitar, a sculpture, and a typewriterโ€”all tools of the liberal artsโ€”get mangled into a garbage heap as Sonny & Cher cheerfully sing, โ€œAll I ever need is you.โ€ In the penultimate moment, a goofy yellow smiley emoji becomes a bug-eyed scary-clown freak as it, too, is crushed to death. Worse, if you enable closed captions like I do by default, the video says: โ€œ[POPPING] [SPLAT]โ€ right as its eyeballs pop out of its head when Cher sings, โ€œGive me a reason to build my world around you.โ€ Itโ€™s enough to make a child cry. It has all the comforting vibes of the burnt pink teddy bear floating in the swimming pool on Breaking Bad after two planes crash in mid-air. I have so many questions (aside from simply wondering the names of the soon-to-be ex-employees who greenlit this abomination). First of all, as a trumpet player myself, I am personally offended that they made me watch a perfectly good trumpet get smashed to smithereens like itโ€™s no big deal. Why would they torture me like this? Second of all, what is the message here? No, not that โ€œthe most powerful iPad ever is also the thinnest,โ€ as the voiceover artist states in the last few seconds of the clip. I mean: what is the message? Ostensibly, pulverizing childrenโ€™s toys, arcade games, architectural models, and ceramic Angry Birds into a paste implies something like โ€œWeโ€™re taking all the best of humanity; all the collective works of Western Civilization, smashing it into pieces and putting it inside this remarkably thin device so you can have all of it in the palm of your hand.โ€ But my oh my, is there an elephant in this roomโ€ฆ heโ€™s hiding behind the monstrous destroying machine. Did anyone inside Apple realize that everyone outside Apple will recognize this imagery in a metaphorical sense, but not the one Apple intended? We donโ€™t see a crushing machine gently consolidating the greatest output of all our artistic endeavors, simply reformatted for a digital age and consumed by everyone with instant, fingertip access. We see what is painstakingly obvious to us, and the timing couldnโ€™t possibly be worse. We see a giant, soulless machine consuming our work in a very different way. Right now, AI models are training themselves on our intellectual property and even our very own personally-identifying data. We arenโ€™t the ones doing the consuming. Weโ€™re the ones being consumed. The tech industry has become one massive gaping maw, opening wide and swallowing everything in sight, chewing it up into little bits and pieces of comminuted waste, like a paper shredder or a garbage disposal. Itโ€™s destruction in its most literal form. And for what? For a newer version of the iPad that is only slightly thinner than its predecessor? For an only marginally improved version of Appleโ€™s tablet device that has been around for 14 years? For increased profits? This is a terrible look for Apple. They may as well be saying: โ€œAll your work are belong to us.โ€ Personally, I am a fan of artificial intelligence. I am eagerly embracing our robot overlords and I welcome our new CSV god (as the actual developers of AI models like to say). I look forward to the freedom and innovation that will come as a result of humanity augmenting our intelligence with AI like a force multiplier on a battlefield. But if Apple has the same perspective I do, theyโ€™re selling it in the worst possible way. When I see this video, I see that Apple is definitely crushing somethingโ€ฆ but Iโ€™m not sure what. -Crushing small companies that develop apps for the extremely heavy-handed App Store, which imposes byzantine restrictions on what they can and canโ€™t do with their own apps? -Crushing competitors by limiting what they can do on the iOS and MacOS platforms with arbitrary and capricious rules about enabling functionalities that Apple doesnโ€™t like, even if users do? -Crushing publishers and content creators with a punitive 30% fee on all subscriptions and in-app purchases? -Crushing choice and competition by not allowing app makers to make apps and programs that do the same thing that native apps already do, even if they do it better? -Crushing all human creativity and innovation by automating and systematizing everything? In the early days of the โ€œGoogle vs. Appleโ€ fight over the web and app stores, I was really concerned that Google was becoming way, way too powerful. Specifically, in 2015, when Google came up with โ€œapp streaming,โ€ they announced a desire to form a โ€œweb of apps.โ€ This was concerning. Especially when coupled with Googleโ€™s efforts to steal content from other websites and provide it to users via the โ€œknowledge graphโ€ results, ending up with the creation of โ€œzero-clickโ€ search results pages, which absolutely punished website owners and content creators. By taking the most valuable content off a website and showing it to Google users without them needing to click through to the website itself, Google had essentially stolen everybodyโ€™s intellectual property with only the most minimal attribution possible (to fend off lawsuits no doubt, but with no intention of users actually visiting the website in question anymore). โ€œGoogle is eating the internet,โ€ I thought, and said out loud, (although I probably wasnโ€™t the first person to use that phrase) But what I meant was purely an analogy. It was vague and ambiguous, almost silly. Maybe I was wrong, though: maybe itโ€™s Apple thatโ€™s doing the eating. Maybe Apple is not only gobbling up everyone elseโ€™s work, but also homogenizing itโ€”and usโ€”and forcing us to use their platform, pay their fees, abide by their rules, and constantly keep upgrading, upgrading, upgrading, to an ever-thinner iPad in order to use it. Watch the video again. This is the stuff of nightmares. To be perfectly fair, even if I were to take the commercial at face value and ignore itโ€™s off-the-charts creepiness and just stick to its one stated claimโ€”that the new iPad Pro is thinnerโ€”it still fails as a commercial. Why? Because nobody cares how thin an iPad is. Seriously. Iโ€™ve owned an iPad since 2010: that means Iโ€™ve carried around a version of Appleโ€™s already-thin tablet every day for over a dozen years. Never once have I said to myself: โ€œYou know what improvement Iโ€™d really like to see in this thing? I wish it were thinner.โ€ Never. That thought has never crossed my mind, even once. You know what has? -Better battery life. -Iโ€™d like my iPad to not get hot to the touch when I use the Apple Pencil to take notes. -I wish it wasnโ€™t so fragile: I dropped my brand-new iPad 2 back in the day when it slipped out of the arm-hold I was carrying it in, it bounced on the pavement, and the screen shattered into a thousand pieces, making it unusable. -I wish it had more storage. -I wish Apple would stop changing the type of cable connector it uses: Iโ€™ve gone from the original 30-pin connector to the Lightning connector, and now to the current USB-C/Thunderbolt connector. -I wish I could view the screen in direct sunlight. -I wish it wouldnโ€™t overheat and turn off automatically when I use it outdoors in the summertime. Those are announcements I would welcome in a new iPad Pro commercial. None of this โ€œnow even thinnerโ€ nonsense nobody needs or cares about. So, back to the commercial. In my opinion, whoever made this ad should be fired. I almost never say that about other companies, especially for good-faith marketing efforts gone wrongโ€ฆ those of us who work in marketing make mistakes sometimes, and we learn from them. But cases like this warrant a special exception. Marketing and advertising are designed to make people want to buy your products. This commercial doesnโ€™t just not make me want to buy Appleโ€™s products. It makes me not want to buy Appleโ€™s products, which is something altogether different. It turns me from someone who likes iPads into someone who is almost rethinking iPads entirely. Thatโ€™s not just a bad advertisement; itโ€™s a harmful advertisement. Appleโ€™s usually known for great commercials. The legendary 1984 Super Bowl commercial was, of course, their best. I thought โ€œHello, Iโ€™m a Macโ€ was absolutely brilliant. They have made some missteps along the way, but this one is really bad. Not even their nauseatingly preachy and woke โ€œMother Natureโ€ ad from a few years ago was this bad. Steve Jobs once said, โ€œTechnology alone is not enoughโ€”itโ€™s technology married with liberal arts, married with the humanities, that yields us the results that make our heart sing.โ€ My goodness, that last line alone is poetry itself! This ad seems to be Apple signaling that they donโ€™t believe in that anymore. And I donโ€™t think all this handwringing is an overreaction to where you could say โ€œOh, cโ€™mon, itโ€™s just a commercial! Whatโ€™s the big deal?โ€ It is a big deal. It tells you about the values of the company, and what they intend to communicate. Really, how is this the same company that used to sell iPhones by showing grandmas using FaceTime to connect with their baby grandchildren from afar during the holidays? Everything about it is wrong: even the thumbnail they chose for it (the bulging-eyed smiley face) and the fact that they gave it the title โ€œCrush!โ€ It was fun to see the reactions to the video online today. I find it fascinating that Apple shared it on YouTube but turned off the comments. On X, Tim Cook shared it Tuesday, and the video, which so richly deserves to be mocked, is getting it in spades. Some people are calling it โ€œanti-art.โ€ One user called it โ€œsoul-crushing,โ€ which was about as literal and logical a response as youโ€™d expect. It turns out Apple actually made an announcement about the commercial. In response to the (apparently unexpected) poor welcome it got, Apple wrote: โ€œWe missed the mark with this video, and weโ€™re sorry.โ€ Lame response from a tone-deaf tech behemoth, but still, they hopefully got the message. Cโ€™mon, Apple. I have seen the future, and this ainโ€™t it.

Her words are a wake-up call โ€” a reminder that this movement only grows stronger through our action, unity, and unwavering commitment. As we enter a new month, let us take her message to heart. Let us stand together, share the Buy Back Campaign, and guide pioneers with courage and leadership. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Below is the full speech from Ms. Lumari โ€” please read, reflect, and take action. Together, we are the driving force behind the future of Pi. Together, we protect the value we believe in. ๐Ÿ’ชโšก --------------------- "Global GCV Ambassadors Meeting May 31, 2025 Hello everyone โ€” to all our amazing Head Ambassadors, Education Ambassadors, and most especially to our beloved Ms. Doris Yin. Your dedication and passion are what keep this movement alive and growing every day. Iโ€™m truly grateful to be with you all today as we gather once again to push forward with purpose and heart. This meeting is a follow-up to our last gathering, but today feels even more urgent โ€” because we need to come together now more than ever. And Iโ€™ll be honest: Iโ€™ve noticed that only a few are really paying attention to our calls and responsibilities. So hereโ€™s a tough but important question: Do we really want to win? If your answer is yes, then itโ€™s time to show it โ€” not just with words, but with action. Today is May 31 โ€” the last day of the month. Tomorrow is June โ€” a fresh start, a new opportunity to realign with our mission. Thatโ€™s why we are urging everyone to fully commit to the Buy Back Campaign. We need to make reposting the Buy Back Campaign a habit. Right now, only a few are consistently sharing it. Our campaign should be everywhere โ€” loud and proud. Weโ€™ll keep monitoring reposting activity. Just two weeks ago, we reached 70% reposting โ€” but now weโ€™re back down to 20%. Reposting is easy. It only takes a few seconds. So please, letโ€™s do it โ€” consistently. It shows we are proud ambassadors of this movement. To all Head Ambassadors and Education Ambassadors: You each play critical roles. Head Ambassadors โ€” you are the drivers of the Buy Back Campaign. - Your leadership is what makes this movement come alive in your countries. You are responsible for: Coordination, setting national goals, tracking progress, ensuring full engagement and maintaining consistent communication. You are also tasked with recording and reporting Pi purchases in your country. These reports come directly to me and are crucial to measuring our collective impact. Education Ambassadors โ€” you are the heart of understanding. - Your mission is not just to share information โ€” but to inspire and move people. - Host regular training sessions. - Make sure every pioneer understands why buying Pi matters. - Itโ€™s not enough for them to just hear the message โ€” they need to feel it, to know that their participation matters deeply. Walk them through the Buy Back process if needed. Make it simple. Even better โ€” lead by example. When they see you doing it, theyโ€™ll feel empowered to do the same. This is how we multiply efforts โ€” and scale our impact. Education is not just teaching โ€” itโ€™s mobilizing. So why do we have a Buy Back Campaign? Because we must buy back Pi from the exchanges โ€” to protect the value weโ€™ve built with our own hands and hearts. When pioneers buy even just 10 or 20 Pi, weโ€™re pulling it away from speculators โ€” and bringing it back into the hands of our committed community. That act: - Strengthens our economy - Stabilizes Piโ€™s value and - Shows the world our unity. Hereโ€™s the strategic insight: When Pi on exchanges runs out, launching Open Mainnet becomes much easier. Thatโ€™s our goal. To act now, not later. Why do we believe we can empty the exchanges? Because the numbers are on our side. - About 14 million pioneers have migrated their Pi. - 84% โ€” more than 11 million people โ€” own less than 10 Pi. They are the silent majority. If even a small portion buys back just 10 or 20 Pi, it will trigger a transformation we canโ€™t stop. Whatโ€™s missing? - Direction. - Purpose. - Courage. If every pioneer chips in, we make history. Letโ€™s break it down: - 1 million pioneers buying back 20 Pi = 20 million Pi back in the ecosystem - 5 million = 100 million Pi - 11 million = enough to drain the liquidity and protect our future Think about this: Two Cups of Coffee. Thatโ€™s all it takes to buy back 10 Pi today on a CEX. Do you drink coffee every day? Then you can buy back Pi. So ask yourself: What do you want more โ€” your daily caffeine, or economic freedom? HYBE and Min Hee-jin NewJeans Controversy from the Perspective of a 20-Year Entertainment Industry Expert | Kim Yoon-ji, Senior Researcher at the Overseas Economic Research Institute of the Export-Import Bank of Korea #1 [Investment Insight] ์ฆ์‹œ๊ฐ๋„๊ธฐTV HYBE has shown a somewhat immature side throughout this process. The essence of the issue has become less important. Hello, viewers and investors of Stock TV. Recently, there has been a lot of societal concern about the entertainment industry. Last year, it did well, but the question remains about how it will fare this year. Weโ€™re joined by Kim Yoon-ji, Senior Researcher at the Korea Eximbank Overseas Economic Research Institute, to discuss this. Welcome. Today, I brought a drink because this topic is not easy to discuss soberly. The situation between HYBE, Min Hee-jin, and NewJeans has escalated, and unfortunately, itโ€™s no longer just management fighting but the artists have joined the fray. Iโ€™ve heard from someone in the industry that the close relationship between a producer and an artist is inevitable. In the past, there have been similar cases where producers and artists were tightly knit. Now, something similar has happened with Min Hee-jin and HYBE. Most people outside the industry donโ€™t know the exact terms of the contract between Min Hee-jin and HYBE. As my own son works in the entertainment field, Iโ€™m well aware of how important it is to work with a good producer. For a company like HYBE, which has invested tens or even hundreds of billions of won, itโ€™s unthinkable that they would allow NewJeans to separate and go independent after establishing their position. Many in the industry agree that this doesnโ€™t make sense. To the general public, NewJeans might seem like the underdogs, and people might feel they should be allowed to leave. But from the perspective of the entertainment industry, which requires substantial capital to grow, the relationship between investors and artists is key. You canโ€™t discuss this industry without acknowledging the role of investors. This case is different from situations where individual members leave, as seen in the past with groups that had Chinese members. This isnโ€™t about a single member leaving; itโ€™s more about the fact that, in this industry, the producers are as important as the artists themselves. From the beginning, NewJeans has been marketed as Min Hee-jinโ€™s girl group, so the idea of them continuing without her feels different. We need to approach this from a different angle. That said, it doesnโ€™t mean HYBE should completely cut ties. Many people have different initial thoughts about the situation, but the core issue here is the importance of the relationship between producers and the company, especially when substantial investment is involved. From my perspective, the fundamental question is: what exactly was attempted? I still find this unclear. In any company, it's common to hear people say, "I want to quit, I can't work with this boss, I'm leaving tomorrow." We all talk about this with friends or colleagues. Sometimes, we even ask others to let us know if thereโ€™s a good opportunity elsewhere. But actually submitting a resignation is a whole different issue. But in the new premise, I still wonder what exactly they were trying to do. What exactly was attempted? We always talk about it at work, right? "I'm going to quit. I can't work with that boss anymore. I'm leaving tomorrow." We always have those conversations. We talk about it with our friends, with team members, and even ask friends outside of work to let us know if they hear of any good positions. But actually submitting a resignation is a whole different issue, isn't it? Looking at how the situation first unfolded, it seems like HYBE was the one to bring things to light. They shared a lot with the press, and Min Hee-jin, the CEO, responded with a strong counterstatement. HYBE was saying, "Min Hee-jin is trying to do this and that," but CEO Min was like, "What else have I done apart from that message on KakaoTalk?" The court also judged that they weren't sure what actions had actually been attempted. To me, this seems like the fact of the matter. Clearly, HYBE's relationship with CEO Min Hee-jin might not be good. There could have been friction about how a subsidiary operates so independently from the parent company. There were likely various issues internally, but they should have been resolved within the company without making the problems visible externally. The fact that they let it spill outside before resolving it was a huge mistake on HYBE's part, revealing weaknesses in their management abilities. In my view, this has greatly devalued HYBE, becoming a powerful force that has dragged down their valuation. Throughout this process, HYBE displayed a level of immaturity, and the core of the issue became less important. The real concern for investors now is whether the company can effectively handle issues like these. Once this problem is resolved, can the remaining HYBE groups continue to grow securely? This business is all about reputation. HYBE is now seen as a company that ousts female CEOs simply because she didn't follow their orders. That perception leaves a lasting impression on people's minds, damaging the company's future operations. From an investor's perspective, two major incidents have happened in quick succession. The first was the boost in value during 2020 when HYBE sold a huge number of albums during COVID-19, creating the sense that the entertainment industry was Korea's next big sector. But then, this recent issue with Min Hee-jin, alongside BLACKPINK's contract situation, has put a serious damper on things. BLACKPINK didn't renew their contract as a group, and though they claim to continue working together in some capacity, it's not the same as before. YG Entertainment's profitability has plummeted, revealing how dependent they were on BLACKPINK. This has left investors wondering whether the entertainment business is just a limited-time, seven-year affair. If BLACKPINK had carried on smoothly into the next generation, it would have seemed like a sustainable business, and investors would have continued to trust in the long-term future of Korean entertainment. But now, we're seeing the cracks in that perception. Itโ€™s become a question of how to invest in a business with a lifespan of only seven years, when even the manufacturing industry lasts longer than that. The BLACKPINK incident and the NewJeans situation have both severely harmed investor confidence. HYBE's struggles with its artists are analogous to a manufacturing company facing a revolt from its workers. When investors look at this instability, they start questioning whether the business is even viable. The concept of sustainability has been seriously undermined, and the fact that the seven-year contract issue has been a long-standing concern doesnโ€™t make it any easier to deal with. What used to reassure investors was the belief that when a seven-year contract ended, the company would already have the next seven years planned out, ready to sustain their business. That faith in the big entertainment companies has been shaken. Achieving the kind of success that BTS or BLACKPINK did is incredibly difficult, and passing the baton to the next generation is no simple task. Even though investors had faith that YG would produce another BLACKPINK-level group, now that trust is faltering. However, I do think people are now looking at contracts a bit differently. In the past, when a group disbanded, the members would scatter. But now, groups like BLACKPINK continue to work together even while pursuing solo projects. This shows that they understand the importance of sticking together, and I thought that this might help extend the longevity of these groups. But in reality, very few cases of disbanded groups have seen much success with individual members pursuing separate careers. There arenโ€™t many examples where groups have stayed active for long, especially when individual members run into personal issues. Take Big Bang, for instanceโ€”theyโ€™ve been around for a while, but their personal scandals have made it hard for the group to recover fully. In the entertainment business, itโ€™s rare for groups to last more than seven years, and age is also a factor. Once a group surpasses the seven-year mark, the members tend to be quite a bit older. With BTS, they need to show a fresh side if theyโ€™re to keep running strong. One of the most disheartening things mentioned by the members was that they didnโ€™t feel respected. This ties into a larger issue in our society, as we're seeing with the national discussion around workplace bullying. If we think about how BTS achieved success, it's clear why this is such a serious issue. Back when BTS rose to fame, they shared how they werenโ€™t from one of the top three agencies and positioned themselves as underdogs who worked hard to gain recognition. This resonated with many young people who felt that if you work hard enough, you can succeed, even without the backing of a major company. This message gave hope to many, not only in Korea but also globally. BTSโ€™s fan base, especially in the U.S., includes many people who identify as outsiders, those who donโ€™t feel they belong to the mainstreamโ€”whether in terms of race, culture, or social standing. For them, BTS was a source of inspiration, showing that you can still succeed even if you start from the margins. With NewJeans, though thereโ€™s talk about Min Hee-jin, the allegations of bullying within the company are hitting a sensitive nerve for fans. Itโ€™s unfortunate that the company allowed things to reach a point where such accusations were made. Even if the situation was mostly an internal conflict among the adults in charge, they should have handled it better to avoid involving the artists. In the past, we've seen similar issues, like with Big Bangโ€™s various scandals, which were almost at the level of criminal activity. The current situation with NewJeans might not be as severe, but bullying and exclusion are still serious concerns. Ultimately, experiences like these can serve as valuable lessons for the entertainment industry. This situation has highlighted that the entertainment business is fundamentally about human relationships. From the artists to the products they create, everything revolves around people. The moment someoneโ€™s feelings are hurt or relationships are damaged, the entire business can collapse. The entertainment business is all about personal connections, something I've always believed. Recently, I heard about Naver Webtoonโ€™s global success, and it's fascinating to think about how it has outgrown Kakao Webtoon, despite being a later player. Many factors contributed to this success, but someone mentioned that webtoons are also a "personal connection" business. Webtoon creators are tough to manageโ€”they're artists, after all, and keeping them on schedule, especially with weekly deadlines, is a challenging task. CEO Kim Joong has managed to nurture relationships with these creators, making personal connections the backbone of the business. In the entertainment industry, particularly with idols, you can't overlook the importance of personal relationships. The key skill for managing this industry is the ability to connect deeply with both the creators and the artists. HYBE, for instance, doesnโ€™t just need skilled managers who are good with finance or operations. What they truly need are people who can foster those personal relationships, especially when theyโ€™re dealing with artists as young as 13 or 15. Itโ€™s about ensuring that these young talents feel understood and cared for, so they can be inspired to do their best work. Managing young artists is tricky because their idea of success might be completely different from what adults think. A 13-year-old might not care about owning multiple housesโ€”they might just want to spend time with their family or have the freedom to eat out whenever they want. The managerโ€™s job is to tap into what motivates them and help them thrive in a way thatโ€™s meaningful to them. This kind of nurturing is not easy to scale. When a company grows too big, itโ€™s challenging to maintain those close relationships. That's why multi-label approaches, like those seen in large entertainment agencies, are supposed to help. But if personal connections within those labels break down, the whole system can fall apart. This business model seems uniquely suited to Korea. Itโ€™s hard to imagine it working the same way in Japan, where there's a more hierarchical, command-driven structure. Japan's entertainment industry often depends on strong, central producers who direct everything. In contrast, Korean idols often rise through collective effort and personal connection, like BTS did. Despite the challenges, I believe Koreaโ€™s entertainment sector has room for long-term growth. Many of todayโ€™s youth are drawn to this field because it allows them to express their talents and passions. If scandals like the one with NewJeans continue to arise, however, it might dissuade some young people from pursuing these dreams. When you look at what NewJeans members have said, thereโ€™s not much to disagree with. They simply want to keep doing what theyโ€™ve always done and follow their own creative paths. Ensuring they have the freedom to do so can lead to even greater success. These days, if you ask middle or elementary school students what they want to be when they grow up, many of them will say they want to become idols or YouTubers. They believe that with enough effort, they can make it. The entertainment industry needs to be able to channel that passion and potential into something positive. If Min Hee-jin were to leave HYBE, itโ€™s clear that many companies would be eager to work with her. She mentioned once that โ€œeveryone is crazy about money,โ€ and I think thatโ€™s why there would be a long line of people wanting to meet with her if she decided to move on. Right now, for example, there are people in the entertainment industry, like CJ, who may not have fully established themselves, or even private investors, just waiting for an opportunity. Many of them are keeping an eye on Min Hee-jin leaving HYBE. This was evident during the recent Tokyo performance, where her creativity was on full display. It was incomparable. Thatโ€™s why this situation is even more unfortunate. Some people say, "If it wasnโ€™t for the money, how could that group have been created?" But I believe there are people who could have made it happen with or without money. Thatโ€™s the crucial difference in this case. While I'm not an expert, I was touched by the process of recreating a hit song from a legendary Japanese female singer from the '80s. It felt like a major event. It was amazing because I had never seen anything like it before. Even though I wasnโ€™t familiar with the original song, just seeing it was enough to draw in so much attention and make it feel like a historic moment. Thatโ€™s what talent isโ€”turning something simple, like a cover song, into a major event. I remember thinking, "How do the Japanese people feel about this?" because the crowd's reaction was incredible. The enthusiasm was surprising, and I wondered what they were thinking while watching it. This is the true power of Korean cultureโ€”itโ€™s not just about promoting our own culture but also deeply resonating with others. The entertainment industryโ€™s core business is making audiences happy and even obsessed. Min Hee-jin is undeniably a top-tier artist in this field. If she were to leave HYBE, there would be countless opportunities for her. But if HYBE mishandles this situation, it wonโ€™t just be about losing one personโ€”it could destabilize everything. They really need to handle this carefully. As for stocks and investments, that's up to everyoneโ€™s individual decisions. We're just having a casual chat here about the entertainment industry. As someone with a child in the business and another who's analyzed the industry, weโ€™re just relaxing with a casual discussion. So, letโ€™s pour a drink and enjoy this conversation. Charlie Munger spent 50 years studying why intelligent people make catastrophically stupid decisions. It is the most useful thing I have ever watched: 1. Incentives are more powerful than anyone thinks. Munger says he has been in the top 5% of his age cohort his entire life in understanding the power of incentives and he has still underestimated it every single year. Federal Express could not get their night shift to work efficiently until someone realized they were paying by the hour. They switched to paying by the shift. The problem disappeared immediately. 2. People rationalise terrible behavior when their incentives point that way, and they do not even know they are doing it. A doctor in Nebraska was removing perfectly healthy gallbladders for years. When Munger asked an old colleague whether the doctor knew he was harming patients, the answer was no. he genuinely believed the gallbladder was the source of all medical evil and that removing it was an act of love. That is incentive-caused bias at its most extreme. 3. Psychological denial is real, and it is not just for weak people. A family friend's son flew off a carrier in the North Atlantic and never came back. His mother, a completely sane woman, simply never believed he was dead. Reality was too painful, so she distorted it until it was bearable. Munger says we all do this to some extent, and it causes terrible problems. 4. Consistency and commitment tendency are one of the most powerful forces in the human mind. Once you have stated a position publicly, you are psychologically locked into it. Max Planck said the really important new physics was never accepted by the old guard. A new guard came along that was less brain blocked by its previous conclusions. If this happened to the deans of physics, Munger says, imagine what it does to ordinary people. 5. The Chinese brainwashing system used on prisoners of war worked better than torture. They did not start with big demands. They maneuvered people into making tiny little commitments and declarations and slowly built from there. The same mechanism operates in every cult, every sales system, and every ideology that gets deeply embedded in people's heads. 6. Pavlovian association shapes buying behavior at a level most people never consciously process. Munger estimates three quarters of all advertising works on pure Pavlov. Coca-Cola does not want to be associated with funerals. They want to be associated with the Olympics, wonderful music, heroics. The association itself changes how people feel about the product at a subconscious level. Raising the price of a product can actually increase its market share because price and quality are associated in the human mind, and people use price as a signal of value. 7. Persian messenger syndrome is alive and running every major organization. The Persians killed the messenger who brought bad news. Bill Paley in his last 20 years, did not hear one thing he did not want to hear. everyone around him knew bringing bad news was dangerous. The result was that one of the most powerful men in media made terrible decisions for two decades because reality never reached him. 8. Social proof causes otherwise intelligent people to follow each other off cliffs. When one oil company bought a fertilizer company in the 1970s, practically every other major oil company rushed out and did the same. There was no rational reason for oil companies to own fertilizer companies. But if Exxon was doing it, it was good enough for Mobil. Every single acquisition was a disaster. 9. The efficient market theory persisted in academia for decades despite Berkshire Hathaway existing as a living contradiction. One economist kept adding sigmas to explain away the anomaly. two sigma, then three, then four, eventually six sigma. Munger's observation: It is better to add a sigma than change a theory just because the evidence comes in differently. That economist later went into money management himself and sank like a stone. 10. Contrast bias warps perception constantly and invisibly. Put your hand in hot water, then room temperature water. It feels cold. Put your hand in cold water, then room temperature water. It feels hot. same bucket. The human sensory apparatus has no absolute scale, only a contrast scale. Real estate agents exploit this deliberately. They show you two overpriced, awful houses first, then take you to a merely overpriced house, and it feels like a bargain. 11. The frog in slowly heating water is the business version of contrast bias. If something bad comes to you in small pieces, you are likely to miss it entirely. Munger says he has known many high-powered brilliant businessmen who were destroyed this way. not because they were stupid but because each incremental change was too small to trigger alarm. The contrast was never large enough to notice. 12. Authority bias is so powerful it can make trained professionals watch a plane crash. In flight simulator experiments, when the pilot, the authority figure, does something that any trained co-pilot knows will crash the plane, 25% of the time, the co-pilot sits there and lets it crash anyway. They have been trained to know better. The authority relationship overrides the training. 13. Deprivation super reaction syndrome explains why people go insane over small losses. Munger's neighbor had a 180 degree view of the harbor. the neighbor put in a pine tree about 3 feet high that turned it into a 179 and three-quarter degree view. They had a blood feud that went on for years. The New Coke disaster is the corporate version. Coca-Cola told customers they were changing a flavor and triggered a deprival super reaction so powerful that Pepsi was weeks away from releasing old Coke in a Pepsi bottle. smart engineers. brilliant lawyers. armies of psychologists. All missed it. 14. Envy and jealousy are far more powerful than greed and almost entirely absent from psychology textbooks. Munger says Warren Buffett has said half a dozen times that it is not greed that drives the world but envy. In a thousand-page psychology textbook, the index entry for envy and jealousy is blank. One of the most powerful forces in human behavior and academia essentially ignores it. 15. Gambling addiction is not explained by variable reinforcement alone. Skinner thought he had fully explained gambling by showing that variable reward schedules pound in behavior more powerfully than fixed ones. But the people who design modern slot machines know things Skinner did not. Lotteries where you pick your own number get far more play than lotteries where the number is assigned to you. People who commit to a number believe it has more validity because they chose it. Near misses on slot machines trigger deprival super reaction syndrome. It is four or five psychological tendencies working together, not one. 16. The most dangerous situations are when multiple psychological tendencies combine toward the same end at once. Munger calls this the lollapalooza effect. Tupperware parties use four or five tendencies simultaneously. Moonie conversion methods combine multiple tendencies and work extraordinarily well. alcoholics anonymous achieves a 50% no drinking rate when everything else fails because it also combines multiple tendencies toward a constructive end. The Milgram experiment is not just about obedience. it involves authority bias, consistency and commitment tendency, and contrast effects all working together. That combination turns human brains into mush. 17. Boards of directors are structurally designed to fail as corrective mechanisms. The top executive is the authority figure. He is doing something questionable. You look around, and nobody else is objecting, which is social proof that it is fine. He flies you around in the corporate jet and raises your director fees every year, which triggers reciprocation tendency. Munger's rule: boards only act when the behavior gets so bad it starts making them look foolish or threatens legal liability. That is the only forcing function that reliably works. 18. John Goodfriend of Salomon Brothers destroyed his career and reputation because he did not fire a trusted employee who had lied to the government. Every psychological tendency pointed toward keeping the man. He was a close colleague. His wife was known. He was part of a group that had made over a billion dollars for the firm. He said he had never done it before and would never do it again. Goodfriend looked into his eyes and believed him. The man did it again. The lesson: everyone who gets caught embezzling says they have never done it before and will never do it again. That is what they all say. 19. Darwin avoided confirmation bias by deliberately seeking out disconfirming evidence. Munger says Darwin was not especially smart by ordinary standards of human acuity. Yet he is buried in Westminster Abbey. Munger studied how Darwin worked and realized he had psychological tricks worth learning. Darwin always paid extra attention to evidence that contradicted his theories. Munger started doing the same and credits it as one of the most important intellectual habits of his life. 20. Why is the most important word in communication? Carl Braun designed oil refineries with spectacular skill, and you got fired in his company if you wrote a communication without explaining why. not just who, what, where, and when, but why. Braun knew that in a complex system where things can blow up, a communication system that always explains the reason behind an instruction works dramatically better than one that does not. Forstein, the general counsel of Salomon, told Goodfriend on multiple occasions that he had to report the employee's misconduct. He explained it was the right thing to do. He never explained what would happen to Goodfriend personally if he did not. he failed to use the most powerful tool of persuasion. Goodfriend ignored him. When Goodfriend went down, Forstein went with him.
