Soderbergh’s Direction/collaboration with the Fight Team (see below tweet please!) is fuckin masterful! Love the way he keeps everything in a wide or medium close up. Doesn’t even have a score. He lets the fight breathe and tell the story. Also his edits are fuckin cleeean.

s/o to JJ Perry (Day Shift, The Killer’s Game, both BANGERS btw), Jonathan Eusebio (Love Hurts, Violent Night), and Jon Valera (87Eleven) for the dope ass choreography and design. Like all great choreographers, they caterto Carano’s and Fassbender’s strengths so well here.

gotta give Fassbender credit for being an absolute trooper during this fight. It’s not easy fighting an MMA fighter who she herself is naturally gonna struggle with adjusting her technique for Film Fighting. They were great dance partners to each other.

feels like I have to make this clear that i do NOT condone the stuff Carano said and posted. I’m strictly talking HAYWIRE here folks…anywho here’s The Killer fight which is also fuckin nuts.

It is a man fighting a woman . Fake and horrible. How can you praise this gross , unrealistic dreck?

I want to see Soderbergh do another straight up action film like this. Haywire is dope.

Remember watching this way back when it came out on rental/streaming and was so surprised of the cast and people behind it. Legit thought it was going to be the start of a bigger Carano action career then what came after.

Gina Carano is the ultimate bad ass woman, because she is real, moves real, punches real.

The diner scene is also very well choreographed. I still think about it to this day.
